August Reflections
It is hotter than Hades with our 102 temps (supposed to be the high today) and 115 heat index.
I do not feel like doing anything because of said heat.
I am soaked walking from the house to the car or the trashcan or to get the mail, etc.
I do not have the luxury of doing nothing as I am the maid, cook, driver, shopper, laundry person, etc.
It is HOT!!
Okay, now that is off my chest, I can update you on Casa di Mia. I can't believe it is August. It seems like we just got off school weeks ago and here I am on August 2 and so far, I have purchased DD's lunch boxes and both kids' backpacks. Sigh...I need more time for summer. One more month is not enough.
We have been busy this summer and that is why time is just speeding on by. We have had places to go and things to do every single weekend. I am lucky if I can spend either Saturday or Sunday at home all day. Lately, I have not been around either day on weekends.
During the week, we have been going to the pool during the day and then in the evenings, I am playing catch up with laundry and food shopping, etc. With that said, my stitching time in the evenings is practically zero. I am so hoping to remedy that before the beginning of next week.
So we have one more month of summer. To date, my kids still need to finish up summer reading and math packets (DD's is HUGE) and I need to purchase school supplies and uniforms and shoes. I am just not ready but in the next couple of weeks, I will have to get my rear in gear and get it done.
For the rest of August, I plan on enjoying these hot days either home in the wonderful air conditioning (I am so grateful for that) or at the pool. We are planning a weekend getaway, and then there is DD's 9th birthday party and a few other get togethers for the remainder of the summer.
In stitching news, I am hoping to get back to Tesori by the end of the week. I have been too tired in the evenings to even pick it up. I have managed to do some on my 12 Days of Christmas and it looks like it will be finished for Christmas 2006. I am so happy about that.
Since the heat is so bad for the next couple days, we are not going to the pool. Yesterday, while our temps hit 100, the kids wanted to leave the pool by 2:00 PM. I was shocked, but they said it was just too hot to even stay in the water. It was also crowded at the pool and shade was at a premium though I lucked out with getting a spot under the canopy. So since we are sticking close to home, I plan on getting all my cleaning done, most of my laundry caught up and staying away from the stove. As I type, I have a roast in the crock pot. All I need to do is make an extra veggie for dinner. I also spent the morning working for my attorney and I will probably work again tomorrow as I think something he gave me just didn't sound quite right. It probably is okay but he didn't give me the usual background on the documents I needed to prepare.
I hope you are all staying cool if it is hot where you are. I will try to be better in updating. Hopefully soon I will have some pictures to share.
Have a great day everyone!!

Opps-I can't spell at 1:30 am.
Welcome back! I having been doing mundane things around the house like throwing away old receipts and cleaning stuff. I go outside in the early evening to water things and I melt!
Wow, it's hot! I can empathize about getting the kids ready for school. My kids start next week-and I have been running around, shopping, getting school supplies and going to orientations. I am looking forward to a few hours of uninterupted stitching time when they go back-yay!
Ugh, I know how you feel. Looks like your weather is what we had a couple of weeks ago. Hot, humid and horrible! Yes, even the pool couldn't keep you cool, and any kind of needlework was out of the question. Now that the weather has cooled down, I feel like we can get back to normal. I hope your weather cools down soon!
Ah, you and I had the same thought. I fired up the crock pot this week too!
