I'm Melting
Summer is here with a bang. Okay I realize it is the middle of July and by now we have these hot, hazy, humid, out of the ballpark type temperatures but I am just not used to it. With the heat, my energy has been zapped. It is almost like winter. I feel like I am hibernating but instead of a warm house, it is soooooo very, very cool inside. Thank goodness for air conditioning. I haven't really listened to the news, but I think we are in the soup for the rest of the week.
It has been pretty uneventful around here but busy. I have been going to the pool and when not at the pool, I am doing my laundry and other household things including having to work for my attorney half a day yesterday.
The weekend was fun but it went by too quickly. I was in Target on Saturday and ended up getting DD a new comforter/sheet set. She needs a new one but I never expected to get it now. The color was right and the price was even better. :)
The best news was this. First the background. DS has been bugging DH to take him to a concert. Well it is hard as some of the bands DS listens to we just don't think taking a 13 year old is appropriate. And don't even mention the fact that DH will never sit through a screaming session that the band calls rock. DH said if a good band comes along (he was hoping Dave Matthews) he would take DS. Well I chimed in that I love going to concerts and I wanna go too. Last week The Who announced that they would be starting their tour in PHILADELPHIA. How lucky is that. DH said he would love to see The Who and I would too. So at 9:55 in the midst of doing attorney work I logged onto Ticketmaster to wait for the tickets to go on sale. Approximately 20 minutes later and lots of refreshing I got us pretty decent seats. So we are going to see The Who in September. YAHOO!!! I always liked The Who but never saw them in concert. This should be interesting. The last concert I went to was Billy Joel/Elton John and before that one was Santana. After I ordered the tickets, I swore DD to secrecy and waited til DH came home from work so we could tell DS together. That happened around 5 PM last evening. To say the kid was speechless is an understatement. He stared at the order form and seating chart (I circled the section to show DH) for a bit and asked if it was a joke. He never realized I was doing this yesterday morning. Then we broke the news that there were 3 tickets and two of them were for his parents and parents only. LOL He didn't even care because in his words "I'm going to a concert" is all he cares about. I have a feeling we will now be hearing lots of Who in our house. It makes me wonder if DH had an ulterior motive. LOL But thanks to DH's influence, DS does listen to lots of what we listen too. His latest obessession has been Pink Floyd's "The Wall". I swear I am raising a little DH with the music we hear coming from DS's stereo.
Just when I thought I was done the fun "firsts" with DS, here I am going to his first concert with him. Pretty cool that he wants to go and hang with his parents for the evening. What a way for DS to start his teen years!!
In stitching news, I am still finishing up Liguria on Tesori. I have one more motif and part of another to finish up and then I will post a picture. I don't know if it will happen today because we will be going to the pool but I know I should be able to finish this up by tomorrow.
I better get moving. This was nice as both kids are still asleep.
Have a great day everyone!!
