Ahhhh....Finally!!!
Last night after dishes were done and I was sitting in front of the t.v., I pulled out my car project "Celtic Prayer" and started stitching. And boy did that feel great. It has been since before Thanksgiving that I even picked up a needle. I plan on more today.
I also pulled out another small notebook to record my stitching progress through the year. Before blogging, I started keeping a stitching journal for each year of stitching. I think I started in 1999 and I still do it. Of course I now blog but there is something about my written journal. So I pulled out a small notebook and wrote my goals for the year which are also here in my blog.
All in all it was a great night to stitch. I also realized one thing as I was putting my small notebook in my stitching bag. I actually had THREE finishes for 2004. I totally, totally forgot that I did the "Christmas Wishes" large Pine Mountain Pillow kit I bought at CATS. It was in the bottom of my stitching bag. I forgot about it and never stuffed it and put it on display for Christmas. Oh well, there is next year. For now, I will wrap it in tissue and place it on top of our Christmas decorations so I can find it and finish it easy next year.
While I was stitching, I got to thinking about how to keep my enthusiasm going for the year. I figure I will try to set monthly goals of what I want to stitch, finish, start, etc. I will try to mix it up and maybe just maybe, I will get some WIPs finished this year as well as having some new things finished or started. I have a stash to be reckoned with and it just keeps getting larger. While it is nice to look at and dream, I want to make it a reality. LOL
So for January, I want to do the following:
1. Finish Page 3 of Coffee (I stitch from right to left; first \ then /).
2. Finish Celtic Prayer (I will go between car and home for this one)
3. Pick out an ornament and kit and start it and maybe even finish it.
4. Work more on Fire Dragon. This will be toward the end of the month and hopefully I will get the 5-7 block goal finished before February. If not, I will start February on the Fire Dragon.
These sound pretty realistic to me and with any luck I will make progress. Watch this spot as I will post my progress in words and pics.
Last night my stitchy sis in law and her family was here for dinner. After dinner we were going through the UK magazines we both just bought and decided to see if AC Moore was still open. We called and it wasn't so we may just make a run today. That will be nice and I will take DD along. She hasn't been stitching either and I know she wants to so maybe I will get her something either stitching related or something else for her to do. DS stayed over at sis in law's last night so I like spending one-on-one time with DD doing fun stuff that she loves to do with me.
The rest of the day will be quiet. I am doing laundry and I need to get the kids' schoolbags and whatnot together for their first day back tomorrow. We really enjoyed the Christmas break and I know it is going to be hard tomorrow on all of us getting back into a routine. I have leftovers for dinner and that is fine by all of us. So all around it will be an easy type of day.
I hope you all have a great day today!!!!

Congratulations on getting your stitching for 2005 underway! A stitching notebook sounds like a great idea and I might copy you. What kind of things do you write in it? I want to make better note of start/finish dates, type of fabric, designer etc so a notebook would be a good place to do this. Wishing you many productive and relaxing stitching hours for 2005 Mia!
