Snow Time Finally!!
I started a blog post this morning and I never finished so I just now deleted it. It has no bearing now. We are finally getting some significant snow in SE PA. This after the weather people have been wrong, wrong, WRONG!!! My poor kids!!! They have been so praying and hoping for a snow day. So have I. I hate driving in this stuff but of course ice is my worst nightmare. Anyway, this morning as I was watching the weather forecast, it was snowing outside. Of course the weather man was saying this was just a passing flurry. Flurry my butt!!! It never stopped. So the kids got off to school and I started my day. The snow was still falling. During Rachel Ray's show, there was an accuweather check and it still said flurry. Looking out my window it did not look like a flurry. By 11 AM, our school was closing 1 hour early. 20 minutes later and my school was closing 1 1/2 hours early. So at 1 PM, I went out in this mess. I swear I took a couple inches off my car. But again the weather report on the car radio said that the significant (1-3 inches) snow was not happening til later today. Hmph!!!! So anyhoo, I got to school, got the kids and came home. There was a slight lull and now it is coming down again. I so hope we have off tomorrow. Hearing the weather forecast, we are getting everything. I guess the weather people are covering their butts!!! I told my kids and DH that I will never believe the weather people again. I also told them to expect school tomorrow. Of course, their teachers told them there may be a snow day. Stop getting my kids expectations up!!! I no longer believe the weather people. I will forecast my own weather. I think I do a better job of it these days anyway!!!
Well enough about the weather. Things are intense around here. There is a high school registration looming and we STILL do not know where DS wants to go. We have one more school to look at and then DS must make his decision. Then there is his biggie science paper. It will count for 4 major science test grades. This project will go from February til May. He has yet to sit here and do any research. I told him this weekend we are doing nothing til something of his science project is finished.
Then there is DD. I really don't want to go there. It isn't pretty. She is having meltdowns because of all the work on her shoulders right now. I can't even help her because it has to be written in her hand. She has Social Studies crap due tomorrow, a science project due tomorrow and a book report due on Friday. We so need this snow day!!! As of this writing, the science project is finished and she still has to finish up the Social Studies crap and write the book report but we can do that tomorrow. At least she finished the book. It is a matter of putting together the book report which is supposed to look like a pizza. I so need a break from school. I know my kids do. I see it in them. Please let there be a snow day tomorrow. After DD finishes this crap tonight, she basically can have an off day with just doing the book report. She likes those. She liked Social Studies too. She no longer likes it!! In fact, she despises it and told me so about an hour ago. I feel bad because she is in 4th grade and this teacher expects way too much out of a 9 year old. She is melting down and quite frankly so am I.
Woo Boy, I just read what I wrote and I apologise for this rant. I need somewhere to vent. DH is tired of hearing me. Heck, everyone is tired of hearing me. It is all I have been going on about for the past 2 weeks.
I have been stitching but not as much as I want too. I am working on DS's graduation announcement in the car and at gymnastics. But all totalled, I only have about 3 hours stitched. Not enough to even show you a picture. It looks like a blue blob. Tesori is a little better but I am doing a biggie motif of a bird or eagle or something. My plan tonight is to sit and stitch on Tesori. If there is a snow day tomorrow, I plan the same thing. I really would like to show a progress picture of something to you. Actually tomorrow would be a good day as my housework is pretty much in order and I can have a fun day. That would be cool!! I think I need it.
I better go for now. DS is calling me and he has been outside and before he makes puddles all over, I better go see what he wants.
Have a great afternoon/evening everyone!! And thanks for reading this far!! I need a vacation!

Hoping for you to have a snow day!!! They just put to much on our kids these days!!!
Here's hoping you have a snow day - sounds like you could all use it! Big hugs!!
Cathy wrote about it snowing early around her, too.
We could use a snow day - how far south can you send that stuff? HAHA
Mia, I so understand the frustrations of kids in school-sometimes I think if knew what I know about schools now-I may not have had but one! LOL
