Updates
Where do I start? Lots went on this weekend. I was too tired yesterday to type about it. LOL
First off, here is my progress on Rose. I finally got to stitch a little on Sunday and a little last night. I am jumping between the two last colors (both blended) in this design. I need to thread some up before I start stitching tonight. I am so hoping this will be finished by the weekend. That will be another finish and one that has been sitting around for a year. It will be a great feeling.
The living room window went in very smoothly. It looks gorgeous. I tried to take a picture from the inside but I couldn't get a good one. I will have to get myself outside to take a picture. The Christmas tree will look gorgeous in front of the new window. And I am happy to report that they all open and shut the way they are supposed to do. YES!!! I have been waiting 2 1/2 years to be able to open the dang living room window and now winter is approaching and I will probably have to wait til spring. LOL
I also managed to put away all of the Thanksgiving platters, plates, bowls, etc. I won't need them as I am not hosting another holiday dinner this year. That is a good feeling. Thanksgiving was great but I already wrote about that.
I did start baking on Saturday and then on Sunday I prepared more dough. I plan on baking those cookies today. So far I baked Chocolate Crinkles and I have Snickerdoodle and Chocolate Snickerdoodle dough in the fridge waiting to be baked.
On Sunday night we went to the store to get some more Christmas lights. Our dogwood tree in the front grew a lot and needs 3 more strands of lights. So we went out. I was pleasantly surprised that Michaels and Target were not crowded. I decided I will do my Christmas shopping on Sunday nights. I really hate crowds.
I haven't started shopping yet but I do have lists. Hopefully this weekend or the next, we will get the kids started and finished and then I can concentrate on my other gifts I need to buy. The list is not long and I have ideas so it shouldn't be bad this year. Last year was rough on me. I don't know why but this year I feel prepared. :)
Besides baking the cookies today, I still have tons of laundry to muddle through. It feels good to have a down type day and I may even be able to sneak a little stitching in before I get the kids. I figure I will take it easy this week as once the weekend hits, it will start getting hectic. I plan on enjoying the holiday season. Sunday is the beginning of Advent and I can't wait to see that candle lit in Church. I don't panic til I see the pink one (the third one) lit. At that point I am hoping that I am more than ready for Christmas. Last year I sat in disbelief when that candle was lit and I was not even half ready. This year will be different. :)
Well I best be getting along for the day. I want to read a few blogs and check my email. I have been bad the past weekend in reading and blogging.
Have a great day!!

Hi, the rose you are stitching is beautiful! I look forward to seeing the finish. And, my mouth is watering just thinking about the cookies you are baking!! :-)
That is a LOT of work - but it is gorgeous!!!
Yes, I agree - Sunday evenings are a GREAT time to shop.
When Tyler was little, I used to grocery shop around 4 or 4:30 a.m. I'd nurse the baby, put him back to sleep, then hit the store. I'd be back before Scott got up to go to work. It was the BEST thing ever.
But there is no sale good enough to get my hind end to a store at 4 a.m. these days! LOL
Hurray for you, Mia! I wish I felt more prepared for Christmas. I think I might be a little more prepared than I feel. At least today I was able to find some fabric for some gift ideas. I shopped all over Boise, but found the fabric here at home. Perhaps it's because I had a better idea after spending the holiday weekend with my nephews. :D
Sunday evening is good for shopping? I'll have to remember that! I avoid crowds as much as possible too. :)
Rose looks beautiful! good luck on finishing it this week! I hope you have lots of stitching time!
