A New Week

Good Morning All!!

I can't believe it has been almost a week since I blogged. Life got in the way and there just wasn't any time to blog. Since Halloween, we have been busy but hopefully this week will be normal. I sure hope so because in just a few short weeks the holiday hustle and bustle begins with Thanksgiving preparations and goes all the way til New Years Day. I have a feeling those days are going to become a blur.

Anyway, Halloween was great and the night cooperated with being mild so we didn't have to bundle up.

The next day the kids were off for All Saints Day and I spent a good portion of the day with them. We did some running around and I realized that night that I never picked up a needle so that meant I didn't even relax.

Thursday saw the 4th grade going to the Constitution Center in Philadelphia. I was chaperone and I was thrilled to be with DD and her class. If you are ever in Philadelphia, please go to the Constitution Center. It was my first time there but what a site to see especially the original documents written over 200 years ago. Amazing!!!!

Besides the Constitution Center, we went on a Ride the Ducks tour. What a blast that was!!! It is a bus that looks like a boat and it goes both on land and sea (in this case the Delaware River). I learned things on that tour that I never knew and I lived in Philadelphia ALL my life.

Here is one thing that totally amazed us: Who designed the first flag for the original 13 colonies? You can leave your answer in the comments and no fair googling!! We didn't have computers on the duck!!!

Anyway, that was a great trip and I told DH that night that we really have to do that again as a family. I know he and DS would love it. And it is not like we live that far away. LOL

The weekend went by in a blur and of course today I had MEGA MEGA attorney work to type. I just finished and now I need to start preparing dinner because I have an 8th grade school meeting tonight at 6:30. It is the last thing I want to do but I may just get out of doing the dishes tonight. LOL That is always a good thing.

I haven't stitched all week but I hope to remedy that tonight. Rose is coming along great and tomorrow I will take a picture to show you my progress since I picked this up over a week ago.

Have a great day everyone!

I do not know who actually designed the first flag but I think that Francis Hopkinson modified the unofficial Continental flag to become the one that we now have. LOL!!!

Sounds like life has been very busy for you! Glad to see you though! ;)

Betsy Ross, wasn't it?

Whether it was or not, my husband is a distant relative of hers. Betsy Ross' maiden name is the same as my husband's last name, and we have a family tree that shows the lineage back to her!

I've been on that tour twice, and I still can't remember who designed it. Definitely not Betsy Ross. Makes you realize, though, how much Philadelphia needs to work on developing the waterfront!
