This, That and The Other

Good Morning All!!

I really don't have lots to say about one thing but I do have some smallish stuff that could make up for a blog entry. LOL

The weekend was good but started out with a bang. Our power went out because of high winds. This started at 1 PM on Friday afternoon. Sometime between 4-5 AM on Saturday it went back on. What a mess that was!! We lucked out though. We spent time at the mall and when we returned home and saw we still had no power, DH went to his sister's house and borrowed their generator. They had power. They live one block from us. Anyhoo, the generator got hooked up to the fridge, t.v. and a lamp in the hallway. I went to sleep with the loud sound of the generator which was located somewhere underneath my bedroom window. Saturday I was like a zombie most of the day.

I didn't get much stitching done Friday or Saturday because of said power outage but I made up for it on Sunday. I am a few motifs away from finishing Puglia on Tesori and it is looking great. I am hoping today to get more done or maybe even finish it. I didn't stitch last night because I was busy after dinner.

I am working away on my snowman ornament which is my car project. I have decided to change it up a bit and instead of a mini wall/tree hanging, it will be a cube or maybe even one of those flat fold things I have been seeing on people's blogs. Pretty cool!!

I did finish up the gingerbread boy and just have to attach charms and then assemble it into a mini bell pull. I am still debating on whether or not I need my sister-in-law to sew anything for me. I may be able to fudge it with a few tacking stitches here and there. I will get to that later. I don't want to ruin it as it really turned out pretty. I will have a photo of it soon.

The weather feels like winter has arrived. It is freezing and I am finding that I need to just keep the heat on. Lately, I usually turn it on in the morning and as soon as the house warms up, I turn it off. Well yesterday and now today it needs to be on all the time or else the house gets chilly rather quickly. I guess winter isn't too far away.

In a little bit, I plan a run to the grocery store for veggies to make my first pot of vegetable beef soup for the season. I have been making chicken type soups lately but not veggie. I figure today will be a great day for soup. It is also easy. Once I do the slice and dice of the veggies, it can simmer all afternoon and make the house smell warm and inviting. My kind of smell. :) Tonight I just plan on getting some stitching done.

Well I guess that is about it from here. I am sure I have forgotten something but I can always add to this post if I want. Like I said earlier, there is not much to say but lots of little things I wanted to get out.

Have a great day everyone!!
