Too Busy

This summer is flying on by and it is all blurring together. We have been way too busy and I am starting to long for some down time. The kids are enjoying themselves and I am too but school starts in just a few short weeks.

I haven't stitched in a couple of weeks and it seems that every weekend we have something to do.

This past weekend was a great one though. Our DD turned 9 on Saturday and her party started at 1:00 pm with her "girl party" and then went til 11 pm with the family party. I was exhausted yesterday but I had to do something for my girlfriend's birthday and had her and her DH over for dinner. Am I a glutton for punishment or what?

The important thing is we are having fun but I just wish we can have a few lazy days of summer before September hits.

In the past week, I have bought school supplies and labeled and packed them in their respective backpacks. I don't want to be like I was last year with the last minute stuff. Some time this week, DD has to try on her uniform so I can see if I need to purchase anything. DS needs new trousers, shirts and ties. I knew that before school even ended. The boy is growing like a weed. :)

Today I wanted to go to the pool but in the last hour or so I realized I need to be on top of things before they get out of hand. So I figure today will be spent getting my everyday life back together and then starting fresh tomorrow. To say I am exhausted is an understatement and I need today to recharge the batteries.

It felt good this morning to read a few blogs. I haven't read them in awhile and it is nice catching up with all of you. I am so hoping to get some sort of routine so I can enjoy my mornings and then spend the afternoons and evenings enjoying the rest of summer.

Our weather has been beautiful. I haven't had the AC on for quite a few days but I think today it will be back on. We are supposed to get hot and muggy again. But it has been enjoyable with the weather lately.

Hopefully I will return to some type of normalcy and even have a picture to share with you in the next few days. :)
