Monday Mumblings
Well, it has been quite a weekend with the snow, the Eagles winning and stitching. I woke up this morning thinking the kids had off but NO I was listening for our OLD school back in Philly which had off. When I realized we had a two hour late opening, I was quite upset. I really didn't want to venture out in the cold and drive with the idiots on the road. But it worked out well in the end and the kids are safely in school. Of course that puts a damper on my plans for the day but I will rebound and get my stuff done in the short time between now and when I have to get them to come home.
It is not even 24 hours and the "sports authority media" are already saying New England has an easy win over the Eagles. That gets me so mad. Don't rule us out yet. The one thing our Philly team has is a really BIG HEART!!! You should have heard these guys at their news conference after the game. Not one of them took credit for the win. They all credited each other. They all said they did it for the fans. They said that they got this far because Philly fans never lost faith in the previous three tries. They all said they were tired of watching the fans and themselves on the sidelines while other teams celebrated in our stadium. They also said they never lost faith. They were determined this time. They have a great coach and great team and I sure hope they give NE a run for its money. I hope they win and win big and stuff it into the faces of all who said we couldn't do it. Don't rule us out yet!!!! Lee, I am sorry Pittsburgh didn't win. I was really rooting for them especially when they were starting to catch up in the score. I also have to say that us eastern Pennsylvanians were routing for Pittsburgh too. They showed it on the local news after the game and press conferences. It was another good game of football and I hated that outcome.
Okay enough of me and sports for the day. I just like watching and stitching to it. But I am a Philadelphia football fan and don't miss a game if I can help it. During both games and most of the day, I stitched away on my dragon. In the beginning of the month I said I wanted to do 8 full gridblocks and 7 that are partially finished. Well I am totally finished three of the grid blocks because they had lots of one stitch this color and one stitch that color. I am well under way to having the other 6 blocks almost finished and I have now ventured into the lower 7 blocks because it is the same color as the 6 above. I plan on staying with this til the end of the month and maybe into February. When I have momentum going on this piece, I tend to stay with it since it is being done on black. I will probably post a progress pic real soon if not today.
For the rest of the day, I plan on playing catch-up with the stuff I wanted done earlier this morning. I have straightening to do and dinner to prep and I am determined to stay on top of laundry so I will do at least one load. Tonight my plan is to stitch some more in front of the t.v. It has been nice to finally have down time to do it. It seems like I have been running since Thanksgiving.
Have a great day everyone and stay warm and dry!!!
