Brrrrr...shiver...brrr...shiver

Oh my goodness!!! Winter is finally here and boy did it come in with a bang. It is absolutely FREEZING here. Our temps are only going to 22 F and our windchills are below 0. ACK!!!! Just last week, we had a day with 68 F temperatures. But I knew it had to get here sooner or later. We are even supposed to get some snow (I don't know how much) in the next few days. For my kids' sakes, I hope it is enough for them to play in. I doubt it will be enough for a snow day. The rest of the week will be cold too with the highest temps around 34 F. Time to curl up and stitch, I say. :))

The kids are back to school today and if they were not awake when we were inside, they sure did wake up when they hit the cold air. But I had them bundled up nicely and off they went. I came home and got myself together and now I will have my "coffee break" on here and get some household stuff done and over with.

Last night I actually finished the page I was doing in Coffee. YES YES YES!!! Fire Dragon here I come!!! It went rather quick and I think I was finished in about 1 1/2 hours because of all the color changes. I will post a picture some time today. When I made note of the finish of the page in my stitching journal, I looked back in my 2004 one to see when I started it. I should be ashamed of myself!!!! LOL I started this design on September 28, 2004 and I finished this page on January 17, 2005. Of course, I need to take into consideration that in that time, I went to CATS and then I went for a good 8 weeks with no stitching. So I guessed that I stitched for a solid 30 days on the project. Hopefully the next go around will be much quicker. I sure hope so.

I almost pulled out my 2003 journal to see when I started Fire Dragon. But I couldn't take anymore depressing stitching news. So I didn't but I may do so later. I have Fire Dragon all ready and I put in a few stitches this morning. For this go round, I plan on stitching 8 grid blocks and finishing up 7 that were already started. I *think* it will go fast because a lot of those 8 gridblocks only have one or two colors in there so it will be like stitching full blocks of color. But we shall see.

So now it looks like I am on my way to fulfilling my January goals. It is a good feeling and with any luck, I will have accomplished most if not all of them by January 31. My Celestial Prayer may end up being a carry over. I don't know yet. I guess the next two weeks will tell. I also still have to kit up an ornie to do. I think I may do Peace Tree from JCS 2004 Ornie issue. I have some dark red variegated DMC in my stash so I will use that. I just need to pick out a fabric to do it on. Once I start going through my stash, I know I will make up my mind on what ornie to do. I rather pick from what I already have instead of buying more. I am trying to save some money and buying stash is not a priority right now. I have way to much to keep me busy for a long time to come. :)

Well I better get moving. I still need to do hair and makeup and then make the beds and then do something household like.

Have a great day everyone!!
