I Need a Weekend!!!

Where did the weekend go? It seems like it was Friday and now it is Monday. We were busy all weekend with the post holiday get togethers. So during the day, I prepared things to bring and at night we were out and about. But it was all fun.

First up, was our new friends and neighbors across the street. I just love them and K and I just clicked from the day we met. It is hard to find a friend like her so I cherish our new friendship that is not even 6 months old. Her and her DH prepared such a wonderful meal and they invited another couple who also live across the street from us and we had lots of laughs, lots of food and now wonderful memories.

Yesterday I woke up and needed to do things for last night. Last night we went to DH's aunt's for dinner. Our family has grown so large that it is hard to get together during the holidays. So she had us, sis in laws and their families and fil and her children and their families. We had a lot of fun but she really outdid herself. She made just too much food. And of course I don't know when to stop. I haven't gotten on a scale the entire holiday time and I don't plan on it til spring. Til then I really need to cut down. But again, we had lots of laughs, food and now memories.

Today I woke up realizing that I have nothing on the calendar for the rest of the week and more importantly, next weekend. I already told DH that I really want a weekend home to chill out. He even agreed. But then again he has been working on weekends and it really hurts him when we are out for late nights on the weekends. He was practically falling asleep last night at his aunt's house.

For the rest of the week, I need to do the normal household stuff and I want to make it so that the weekend is free. I have a ton of laundry to do and I had just cleared it all up by Wednesday of last week. I blame it on my 11 y.o. DS who seems to change a couple times a day. I am really looking forward to when he is officially a teenager (NOT!!). LOL

Last night when we got in, I actually got to stitch for an hour on Coffee. I really want this section done this week. I have chili in the crockpot and laundry going and after I sign off, I have some typing to do for my boss. But after that, my afternoon is free with the exception of stuffing washer and dryer and then folding and putting away. So during those down times, I will be working on Coffee. I really love this design but it is one stitch here and one stitch there with very little blocks of one color. It really is stunning with all those subtle changes but it takes me time. Hopefully by the end of the week, I will be finished this section and will scan my progress and then move onto my Fire Dragon that has been restless in the closet for so long. :)

Have a great Monday everyone!!!
