Fire Dragon Progress

Fire Dragon 1/25/05 Posted by Hello
Here is what I did during the Eagles game on Sunday. I am so proud of myself. For those not familiar, I am working on the right side and going across to the partial face of the dragon. All that yellow and the solid far most right grid blocks are what I stitched and I am proud to say that a certain frog did not visit at all with all the excitement. :) Last night I managed to finish that yellow (DMC 725) in that lower middle portion to the right. It is the setting sun on the horizon. It is coming along nicely and hopefully by next week I will have another progress pic to show you all. I have done more on this than you see but my scanner is not big enough. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will have a digital camera and I will take a photo of the whole thing.

Not much on the agenda for today other than the same old same old. I forgot with all the excitement to tell you that the school finally hired a teacher for DD's class. She came home from school on Thursday and announced that the new teacher was "observing" and (these are her word), "It's a boy teacher!!". Mr. F seems like a sweetie and loves kids. He is 24 and has always enjoyed teaching and went from camp counselor in high school to a teacher this past year. He is also the son of our first grade teacher. So I am impressed. What even impressed me more is he sent home a questionnaire for us to fill out to get a feel for each child. I did note how I feel that M has lost a little bit with the sudden leaving of her teacher. Well he is filling the void quickly. It seemed like overnight that a little switch went off in M and she was bouncing out of bed to get to school on Friday and yesterday and today. Tonight we (parents) have a meeting with him and he will let us know his plans for the rest of the year. So far, so good. I am liking what I am seeing but of course it has only been a few days. Of course we still have no clue as to why her teacher left in the first place, but hopefully Mr. F will be lively and fun like Ms. S. was. So for the past few days, I have heard nothing but kudos for M's teacher. She is happy so I am happy as is DH.

We got a little more snow last night and are expecting more. But at least today the temps will hit 30 and maybe the sun will make an appearance and melt some of it.

I am hoping the meeting isn't long and that I can get back to my dragon. I like having this momentum going and it feels great to look forward to stitching again. It has been awhile.

Have a great day everyone!!

It's great to see your progress on the dragon - you are on a roll now! It's also great to hear that your DD likes her new boy teacher!
