Back to Reality
Sigh....
Back to the routine in our household. I couldn't believe I had to be up at 6:30 this morning to start the day. Gosh, it felt like we just started our Christmas break. But sooner or later, things have to go back to normal.
DD was up bright and early and ready to face the day at school. She loves her teacher and couldn't wait to go in and see everyone.
DS was hoping for a snowstorm. LOL He just wasn't ready to go back to school and in all honesty, neither was I. I enjoyed having them home and for the first time in 2004, this Christmas break was truly a down time for all of us.
So I got the kids ready, lunches ready and myself ready. I dropped them off and tackled the food shopping that I managed to put off during the Christmas break. I loved going to the store so early as it was empty. I was home by 9:30 and proceeded to clean out the fridge and pantry and get everything away. All I need to tackle now is emptying the plastic containers that accumulated in the fridge the past couple weeks. Not my favorite job so that is why I am here. LOL
In a little bit, I will straighten and do laundry and stitch a bit. I came to a realization last night that when we are watching t.v., I can work on one of my big projects and then when I take the kids to bed, I can sit in bed with my table OTT and stitch on my car project. I did that last night and it was great. I stitched til DH came to bed around 11:00. The kids got into a habit in our old house that they liked that I went upstairs to bed with them. When they were small I usually had to stay with one or the other til they fell asleep. Well it became habit and even though I don't have to stay with them any longer, they like that I go up with them at 9 PM or sometimes 9:30 PM. So I do. Most times I am ready for bed so it is no big deal. But last night I didn't want to stop stitching so I took it with me. I made some good progress and between the car today and tonight I should see a lot of progress. Hopefully the goals I set for January are realistic. Only time will tell.
I have been tossing the idea of having a ticker on my blog. I like Jo's and she kept me on track during Christmas even though sometimes it was nerve wracking. So I may just do that to liven things up a bit. I am not the most computer literate person so we shall see where that goes.
I thought I would do the QOTW but it seems that the woman who does it, is not anymore. That is sad that some people, especially stitchers, have to be nasty. It was fun to do and I enjoyed reading everyone's answers. So now my Monday entry will not be totally stitching related. But hopefully I will find something cool to do out there. I just have to find it.
Our weather today is going to go to the low 60s (F). Hard to believe it is January. Usually we are starting with out coldest weather. But I am not getting my hopes up. Winter is too new for us to have an easy one. I also want to see a nice snowfall. I love snowy days when we are all home and it is a relaxing type day. I also enjoy seeing the kids play in the snow and playing with them. I hate the cleaning of the snow but DH has a snowblower so that makes the clean up a lot easier.
Well I best be moving along now. I want to get those containers emptied and in the dishwasher.
Have a great day everyone!!

Hi Mia,
you have the house empty already! Here, the christmasbreak is 2 weeks (and my elder children are free the day before and the day after this break). So I have my children home with me all week, but my husband is only working 2 days, so I'm not complaining.
What I dislike a little bit: my mothers birthday is tomorrow, my daughters birthday is the day after tomorrow. And last but not least, my husbands birthday is friday! He'll turn 40, so we have to throw him a party.
Wish me luck with all these activities. Not much stitching this week...
Have a nice week
Anneke
