Motivation
After posting two pictures in one week of my progress on Rose, I realized that I kept going back to the pictures and seeing how far the project grew in one week. So it may bore you, but I decided to post a few pictures during the week to motivate me to get this project finished and off my list. I am anxious to be able to start something new off my challenge list in January 2007.
This is my weekend progress on Rose. I had lots of stitching time and it may not look like much but I am now 12 stitches away from the bottom of the design. Okay, the 12 stitches to the bottom is from the lowest stitch you see on the project. LOL I do admit that I am a slow stitcher and I have to watch this chart carefully. I also had to take time to blend more threads. I blended a bunch and then stitched away and I ran out of a few of the color blends over the weekend and had to combine more. But I did stitch a lot and plan on that during the week. I have to do this. I want you to see more and more of this Rose finished. You are my motivation. I want to show more and more finished with each picture I post. :) Also most of the last 12 rows is one color. I am sure I will have to blend some more threads but I will cross that bridge when I get to it. For now, I am trying to finish up the colors that are not dominate now. The weekend was wet and rainy and perfect for stitching and watching football. Jo, I am sorry about the Redskins loss to the Eagles, but we REALLY needed this win. I hope they get their heads out of the sand now and start winning.
Thanks for the well wishes for DD. She came out of school on Friday much better than when she went in. She was thrilled to help me make the pizza and we had a great mother-daughter time doing it. Everyone, including a friend of DS, complimented her (and me too) on great pizza for dinner on Friday night.
The weekend was fun and we pretty much did what we felt like doing. So that meant I did no household chores. Of course, I am going to pay for it today and probably the next few days but that is okay. It was more important to have quality time with the family and we all had a great weekend. It showed on everyone's face this morning when everyone had to leave for work, school and me facing the new mountain of laundry. :)
On Thursday, DS will spend the day at one of the two high schools he can attend in the fall. These are his two choices and one he will spend the day at and the other we will go to an open house and then he will make his decision come February. So of course he picked the one a little further away from home. It is only about 15 minutes to get there but I had no idea where exactly it was. I had an idea but I could not see it in my mind. So we all piled in the car on a rainy Sunday and took a dry run so I know where I am going on Thursday since he needs a ride. I wish I had my camera to capture DS's face. He was rendered speechless when we pulled into the grounds. The campus is huge and I love it. It is one of the newer Catholic high schools in the area. It is only 40 years old. There are lots of building, grounds and parking. I was impressed but I didn't think DS was prepared for the size. LOL So now I know where I am going and hopefully there will not be a ton of traffic come Thursday morning. I am still overwhelmed with this transition but I figure we are going to do it one step at a time and we will have time between for me to get used to everything. But of course, I still have the butterflies and I am sure DS has them too now.
I better get moving because I want to get all my household stuff finished this week before the preparations for Thanksgiving begin.
Have a great day!!

Your Rose is just gorgeous! You are making great progress on it. I am with you though, I would love to see some finishes before the end of the year, so I can have some new starts in 2007!
The Rose is awesome!! Could you post some about the frame you are using? or post a pic of the whole frame? it looks very sturdy and most I have seen look flimsy.
