This and That

I can't believe today is Thursday. The week has just wooshed on by. Hopefully the weekend will slow down. LOL

The kids and I are still tired from getting up so early yesterday. They were so quiet this morning and practically looked like zombies. I am pretty sure I was the same way. We had to leave a little early today because DS is having "Breakfast and a Book" in his class so we ran out to get him a breakfast sandwich and chocolate milk. He is reading "The Hobbit" at the moment and is surprising me. He is not the greatest reader and I think this is way beyond his level but he is in the first chapter and is enjoying it. I told him to come to me to talk about it or to re-read a paragraph or two if he is not understanding it. So far, so good and he is liking it.

DD is doing well in school and so far so good with her "boy" teacher. I like him but I think he is a bit too organized for a bunch of 7 and 8 year olds. He expects them to be as organized as him and I just don't think it is there yet for a 2nd grader. I discussed this with a couple of the moms and they agree. Whew!!! I didn't want to be the only one with a complaint. Boy did I hear a lot this morning. But DD is "still" doing well and that is all that counts. I figure I will cross the bridge when I get to it if there is an issue with DD. In the meantime, I am trying to keep on top of her and me when it comes to the way he wants homework, schoolwork, projects done.

On the homefront, I have lots of laundry today and figure I will get it out of the way and maybe even clean a room completely to get me on top of things for tomorrow. I want an easy weekend and need to get stuff done so it is a great motivator. Hopefully my plan will work. I want to enjoy Superbowl Weekend.

Last night I started in on the partially finished areas on Fire Dragon. It is a little slow going but it is going well and this area I am stitching on is really coming together. Hopefully I will post a progress pic in the next couple of days. My only concern is my chart is wearing away at the creases. I hate that Cross My Heart printed this chart to be the size of a fold-out map. I bought two and one is pristine and I can refer to it but it is aggravating having to go back and forth right now. Can you tell I am working on an area with a crease? Well wrong!! I am working on an area with two creases which I previously taped but some of the symbols are so alike. Anyway, I am glad I had the brilliant idea to buy two when I saw how the chart was printed. I may make working copies and then highlight all I did on the working copies and use them to refer too. I even thought of making working copies of the "crease areas". I don't know yet. I am still thinking but am so grateful I have another pristine chart to refer to.

There goes the dryer buzzer so that means I better get moving.
Have a great day everyone!!!
