Question of the Week and Weekly Goals
If you could design your dream needlework/cross stitch shop, what would it be like?
Ohhhhhh...dangerous question for me. If I could have my own shop, it would be a nice size store. Not really big but not really little. It would be warm and inviting and there would be a small room for moms to leave their children while they shop. I would make sure to have some toys for all ages along with craft things. I would even have someone to maybe teach a small craft for children while they wait for their moms (or dads). I would also have a hospitality room with refreshments of some sort. In that room, I would have comfy chairs and even a t.v. for those men who have to wait for their wives. And how could I forget, in the middle of the shop would be comfy chairs/sofas, tables and lights so you can come sit and stitch. I would probably have a night or two a week for stitch ins. Then lets not forget the stock. I would carry every line of threads and fabric. I would have all sorts of charts from beginner to advanced and I would carry kits for those that prefer kits. The walls would be full of stitched models and there would be shelves of all sorts of gadgets and scissors and tote bags. In the back would be a framing area with an employee who is a pro at framing needlework. It would be one stop shopping for a cross stitcher/needleworker. My dream shop would be a paradise for the needleworker. I would plan on a night a month to have a class taught by a designer. I would also highlight designers every week or two and hold special sales on those designs and all that goes with it. I would also have tons of freebies and all the stuff that goes with it. Most of all, I would make sure to make everyone welcome so that they come back. No bad customer service with me. Ahhhh....to dream. I am sure as I read other blogs today, some will be just like what I wrote and others will give me further insight into an LNS. I don't have an LNS close by and when I did, it wasn't the friendliest place to visit. All I have to say is Thank Goodness for the internet and CATS every year. But now, I do have one fairly close and need to get myself there soon. I would also have great hours to accomodate the stay at home moms as well as those that work outside the home. Where is the lottery win when I need it? LOL
Okay enough dreaming........great question though and food for thought. Now onto my goals for the week. Last week I managed to survive the first full week of school and did work on my dragon though not as much as I would have liked to. So for this week, I would like to accomplish the following:
1. Finish the last three grid sections for this rotation of the dragon.
2. Start my Coffee pattern from Mystic Stitch (thanks to the floss sale at AC Moore this is possible).
3. Get all housework done before the end of the week so I can have another free weekend.
4. Enjoy the week to the fullest.
5. Don't sweat the small stuff.
Have a great Monday!!!!!
