Look Out Next May
Last night's May Procession was absolutely beautiful. Somewhere between the second and third decade of the Rosary, I thought it was so cool that close to 800 or so children, parents, teachers, and all our priests and deacon were praying as one to our Blessed Mother. She must have been smiling. The children did such a wonderful job. The rest of the world could learn a lot from children if they would just take the time to do so. :)
Anyway, last year was our first year at this Church and school and I really didn't pay close attention to anyone but the 2nd graders and 6th graders. Well, when it came time for Mary to be crowned, it was not just the May Queen and her attendants walking to the altar. It was the ENTIRE 8th grade. Oh my word!!! Next year when DS is in 8th grade, I am going to be bawling my eyes out. Kleenex stock prices will rise sky high just because of me. It was so beautiful. When it was time, the 8th grade stood as one and left their pews toward the altar. The May Queen and her attendants were last in the line. After they sang a hymn for Mary, the May Queen crowned the Blessed Mother and walked to the pulpit. There she said that the 8th grade for the final time together at a May Procession will recite an Act of Consecration to Mary. To hear their voices in unison was beautiful. It was also at the moment that I realized that my son will have his final May Procession next year. He will be one of the soon to be graduates standing there reciting a beautiful prayer.
For the first time last night, I realized that my little boy will be leaving grade school in one short year. Because if next year is anything like this year, it will fly on by. It is moments like these I treasure and DS isn't even in 8th grade yet. LOL
For today, I am trying to desparately get most of my housework complete. My boss is coming with more MEGA work and since my kids are off from Thursday til Tuesday, I want to enjoy the time with them and not be worrying about cleaning when we could be having fun.
Have a great day everyone!

Oh, the May Procession sounded beautiful, Mia. Yeah, and next May will be here sooner than you think. Yikes, next year at this time my little one should be graduating from college!
