May Already?

I cannot believe it is May 1. It seems the last time I checked the calendar it was still winter. Or at least it feels like it. This year for some reason is rushing by. I don't know if it is all the activity going on in my life or what. But I sure hope it slows down a bit for the summer. I put up the May school calendar on the fridge this morning and realized the kids have 7 weeks of school left. Of course in that time they have tons of days off, half days and school activities like the Fun-A-Thon and Field Day. Then there is the downright scary. The EXAMS!! I am so not looking forward to them. This year I will have to find the time to split between the two of them with studying. Last year, DD studied but her exams were not in all subjects. She just had Reading, Math, Spelling and Religion. This year you can add Science and Social Studies to the mix and they are not her strong points. I am just hoping it is because this is the first year she has been graded on those subjects. DS will be tested in EVERYTHING. Sigh...I will cross that bridge at the end of May. For now, I am hoping the weather continues to get warmer, the flowers and grass grows and that I get my spring cleaning done. LOL

Spring cleaning got put on hold the other day and then I was not about to do it this weekend. I should start up again today but I figure I will do the normal household stuff that takes me half a day and then tomorrow I can start fresh in DS's room again. I so want it all done. Where is my maid? Oh wait, I forgot, I am the maid. LOL

So with the first of the month it brings me to what I want accomplished this month. I haven't set goals in quite awhile and they really do motivate me with my everyday stuff and sometimes even stitching.

For May, I want to
Get all Spring Cleaning done (I do have 31 days, ya know?)
Keep up with all housework (this will go from end of Spring Cleaning right through summer)

Stitching wise, I want to finish California Wine Sampler and start Tesori D'Italia.

I showed my sister in law the chart the other day and she told me the word Tesori means "treasure". That is a neat thing that the chart in English means Treasures of Italy. I know I will treasure it if I finish it. LOL

I also ended up ordering the linen for Tesori this weekend. The pieces I had in my stash were not long enough. Not a one. So I ordered 28 ct. antique white cashel linen. I spent a little more than I would have for Jobelan but since I am doing this as a heirloom piece, I want the linen. If I am stitching my name onto it, I want it on the best I can afford. I also want the texture that is in the linen as opposed to a manufactured evenweave. It will give it more character. Of course, I may be the only person to see the character but hey, I will know even if no one else realizes the darn thing is on linen instead of my usual favorite evenweave.

I want to take a picture of California Wine Sampler to show my progress. I really didn't stitch this weekend but I figure it will motivate me for a May finish if I see the weekly progress in the way of a picture. So I may be posting the picture later or tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone!
