Up and Running
** I wrote this post earlier today. Blogger was not letting me post it and somehow I managed to safe this as a draft after mucho tries of getting it to publish.**
Well I think I am up and running with the new computer at this point. Yesterday I managed all by myself to get the printer going and this thing is fast. I am anxious to see how it prints photos. We got the better quality one just for that reason. I also played around with different things and I saw that all I need to do is insert my memory stick from the camera into one of the slots on the computer. That will be great if it works as I won't have to worry about hooking up the camera and finding the always lost cable thingee. There is even a port in the printer for the stick. Cool in my book. Like i said, our old computer was a work horse but didn't have any fancy bells and whistles. It was barely part of the 21st Century. LOL
Last night, DH wanted to try to upload pictures but I was just too tired and really didn't feel like looking at one more manual or directions on how to do it. Hopefully tonight we will try it and if it works, I will have some pictures to show you tomorrow.
I am still digging out from our trip. The only downside to going away in April is that I didn't have a chance to go through all the kids clothes from last year to see what fits and what doesn't. As of this moment, their new and freshly washed clothes are sitting on my bureau. By the end of the week, I am hoping they are in their proper place. I still have some laundry to do and I have one suitcase to empty which is clean clothes we didn't wear in Cancun. My goal for today is to do normal everyday laundry and empty those suitcases so they can be put away. My bedroom is a disaster area everywhere you look and the more I look at it the more overwhelmed I get.
My ironing pile is much, much smaller and I am hoping between loads of laundry, I can finish it up. If not, I will get to it tomorrow. It is not like we need our shorts in the next few days. The weather here is rainy and gray. It is supposed to clear up later today but as of right now, I don't see that happening.
Yesterday we went to Home Depot and bought some plants to place around our patio. It is looking good and looks more liveable instead of a construction site. While we were there, we also picked out the tile and carpet for the family room. I am going with a tannish color tile and the rug is called "Cappucino" but it looks more of a brownish-green color. Very nice and it will be a nice contrast to the tile. DH said he is going to go there in the next couple days to buy the tile and then he will go order the carpet for installation. After that it is a matter of putting the room back together and adding finishing touches. He also has to finish the area around the fireplace and make some type of desk, bar and kid area. For now as long as the room is back together he can work on those projects around furniture and us vegetating down here. So I am one happy woman today.
I managed some stitching yesterday and I am getting near to the end on my Hinzeit "Happy Hour" project. This was a really quick stitch. I thank my "new" eyes. I have only the "R" left to do and then the border and then charms. There is a little backstitch in each of the glasses but I will do that as I do parts of the border before I move the q-snaps.
Have a great evening everyone!
