A Day Off
The title of this post is not what you think!!! I am not really taking a day off but I am taking a day off of Christmas preparations. I am burned out with the decorating, baking, buying, cards, wrapping, etc. So I decided this morning that I will spend the day doing the normal everyday boring household stuff and NO Christmas preparations. In actuality, the house is not that bad but it needs a good straightening. I also need to get some laundry done. I have been staying on top of it and I don't want to lose the momentum and end up with MEGA stacks of laundry. Today is a good day for all of that. I can do this stuff with my eyes shut (well almost LOL).
After I write this and read some blogs and bbs, I will start my dinner in the crockpot and then start the straightening and laundry. Tonight we are supposed to go to the Christmas Show at Church but right now I have a feeling that it may not happen. Why? you may ask? Well, Mother Nature is supposed to dump snow, sleet, ice and rain on us and it is supposed to start around 4 PM this afternoon. YUCK!! The entire school is part of this show and by the time of the show we should be in the thick of this nasty weather headed our way. The only upside of this weather is that tomorrow we are supposed to hit 40 F degrees. That is much better than the 20 F degrees it is right at this moment. But I am keeping my fingers crossed and will say a few prayers that the weather people are wrong. Hey sometimes they are and I hope this is one of those times that it passes us by or doesn't do the nasty stuff it is supposed to do. I will take the snow or rain but please not the ice and sleet. That petrifies me. I don't like being out in it at all.
I haven't stitched in a day but I did start another crochet square. This is a new to me stitch and it is taking some getting used to. Right now, I have to rip it out because I somehow have an extra stitch though I did count properly. Go figure!! But I will get it right somehow even if I have to fudge it.
That is about it from here. I hope you all stay warm and safe if you are in the path of any nasty weather. Have a great day!

I know what you mean about taking a day off - I have baked every night for the past 5 nights...I still have tons to do, but I plan on giving out all my baked goodies THIS weekend, leaving me an entire week to do my pecan pie/pumpkin pie (haven't decided which yet) and pumpkin pound cake, plus holiday dinner. Those will be easy, though, compared to all the candy and cookie making I've been doing!
I too am ready for a break in this Holiday season!!! Just so much more to do!! Stay warm and safe in this dreadful weather! We had 4 more inches dumped on us yesterday and it's snowing again this afternoon. I think we will be definetly having a "White Christmas".
Hugs
I'm glad you are taking some time off, I hope the weather isn't too nasty for you. I feel a little guilty because I haven't even started any Christmas shopping! I mean I have ideas rolling around in my head, but no presents yet. I have a list, but I really don't have many folks to buy for. I refuse to stress over it, I'll have it all done by Wednesday night.
