2006 Stitching Wishes

With the year in stitches review out of the way, it is time to look forward. Out with the old and in with the new. Only problem is, I am bringing the old stitching into the new year. LOL But hopefully, I will see them finished.

For 2006, I am concentrating on my 4 current WIPS (I have more and someday I may clear off the cobwebs). They are:
1) Fire Dragon by Cross My Heart (Started in October 2003)
2) Coffee by Mystic Stitch (Started September 28, 2004)
3) Rose Flower Panel by Heritage Stitchcraft (Started August 8, 2005)
4) 12 Days of Christmas by Hinzeit (Started November 25, 2005)
My wish for these projects is that ALL of them become finishes for 2006. I don't know if that will happen but I can dream, can't I?

These are my definite new starts for 2006. As soon as one of the above is finished, I will add one of these:
1) Another flower panel (I have 3 left to do to make set)
2) Peace Rose by Silver Lining
3) California Wine Sampler by Abbey Lane Designs
4) To be announced. I have stuff kitted and will choose one.

As for small and/or travel projects, I plan to do holiday themed stuff and gift stuff. I already picked out something from a UK magazine that I want to do for my best friend. I will turn it into one of those cube things. I also would like to do some ornaments for next Christmas and some other smallish stuff for different holidays throughout the year. Once I finish up with 12 Days, I will add the holiday/gift stuff. Chances are I will do the project which will be for my best friend after I finish 12 Days.

With that said, I have a tentative rotation which I put into effect Monday. I wanted to see how it goes and so far so good.
Here is my 2006 Rotation Version 1.0 (lol):
Sunday-Monday Fire Dragon
Tuesday-Wednesday Coffee
Thursday 1 afghan square and holiday/gift project
Friday-Saturday Rose

I initially was going to work by 10 hour increments but my stitching time is limited to maybe 1/2 hour during the day and 2 maybe 3 hours in the evening depending on what is going on. There are some evenings that I don't pick up a needle so I don't think the hour increments would work for me. I can see projects dragging out for weeks with my schedule sometimes.

I also looked at my rotation that if I can work on every WIP every week, more gets done and I get closer to a finish. So far, my trial run is working and it is giving me a good headstart on projects that have sat for months without a stitch being put in. :)

So there you have it. I am excited about stitching again and I am enjoying this week where I can stitch for more than 2 hours a day. I hope my enthusiam stays with me for 2006.

Great plan :) I'm hoping to do something similar ... still trying to work it out ... and I keep finding new things to stitch too! LOL

You had a great year in 2005 ... any finishes are good finishes :)

I'll look forward to seeing all your progress pictures in 2006!
