Fun Weekend and Looking Ahead

It was a great, fun-filled, laugh filled weekend around our household. We had no plans and figured we would go where the wind blows. On Saturday morning, I was talking to my girlfriend K and she asked about what we were doing for dinner. I told her probably grill something as I try not to overdue cooking on Saturday nights. She told us to come over there for dinner and to put my stuff away. So we had a great evening of food, fun and laughs with our best friends. It was an early night and we were home a little after 10.

Yesterday I told K that I would make dinner. She told me to bring it over there and we spent the afternoon Scrapbooking. Yes, you read that right. I finally unwrapped the stuff I bought back in July (the receipt was still in the bag LOL). I managed to do three pages and they were all for my DD's 8th birthday party at Build-a-Bear. I am quite proud of myself as this was a first attempt. Even K commented that I am a "natural" and liked my pages. She finished up her Disney Cruise pictures from February. I would have taken a picture of my pages to show you but I left my stuff at her house. We are going to do it again next weekend. I am not sure what day but she said it was easier just to leave my stuff with hers since we will be more apt to pull it out at a moment's notice. If we do scrapbooking next weekend, I will do a couple of pages of the summer. I am kind of working out of order but it will all catch up in the end. The only thing I will need to do summer pages (besides printing out the photos) is the background paper. If I don't do summer, I will do photos of DH and his building of the roof over our patio which our friends are now calling a pavilion because it is so big. LOL I wonder if I can rent it out for parties. LOL

I have to admit that I was very overwhelmed with the laying out of the scrapbook pages. It took me 3 hours to do the three pages. I actually thing I spent more time but some of that was cutting pictures and trying to figure out how to use the dang mat cutter thingee. By the end of our scrapbooking session, I stood back and looked at my work and I was very satisfied.

The kids had a blast all weekend too. DS had a friend spend the day Saturday and then yesterday K's DH took the kids to a pumpkin patch where they had a blast. They came home with 5 different size pumpkins and K came home with the ugliest pumpkin you ever want to see. I so have to get a picture of it. He got it because it was so ugly. LOL Maybe it is the great pumpkin!! LOL

The only thing I did not do this weekend was stitch. I really had good intentions and was even going to bring it with me when I was done scrapbooking. Little did I know that it would take me ALL afternoon to do those 3 pages. LOL But I figure I have all week to stitch as the days are starting to get shorter and the kids now have school to deal with. My progress during the week was pretty good. But who knows, next weekend I could have lots of stitching time.

I am off to a lazy start today but that is only because my house stayed relatively neat all weekend. What a miracle!!! LOL I have to do lunch mother at school today and hopefully I will see my kids. Last week I got there late and just missed DD. I did manage to see DS though.

I better get myself off here so I can make myself pretty. Have a great day everyone!

I'm sure you look pretty without even trying Mia :)

Congratulations on the scrapbooking! My Mum and cousin are really into scrapbooking so I've been sending them a lot of bits and pieces that they can't get in NZ. I would love to do some more too but I can just never find enough time. Enjoy your week!

Cool on scrapbooking! It has been almost a year since I touched my stuff, and I finally pulled it out last night - I'll work on it all this week in the evenings!
