Time Flies Let Me Tell Ya!!
This is the first time in days that I have been online. Well I did go online a bit late last night but was too tired to post a blog entry. My routine is out the window since Friday. My house looks like a bomb went off. Our hampers are busting. So why am I here? Well the washer and dryer are doing their job and I spent a good portion of the afternoon getting rid of junk.
My kids did great in their exams. Better than I ever expected. The heat has been intense and the school is so hot. Only 5 areas of the school are air conditioned and the teachers are all taking turns bringing their classes into the cool air. But their exams were held in their classrooms. YUCK!!! So I am happy all is well and as of Friday, I will have a brand new 3rd grader and 7th grader. YEAH!!!
Saturday and Sunday we spent at the pool. It was great. It was so hot but at the pool it felt great. The kids had a ball and we plan on spending tomorrow there after I get them out of school, give them lunch and pack a cooler and put on bathing suits.
Yesterday started the last week of school and it is all half days. They are doing nothing. Today M's teacher did an end of year ceremony "Here we come, 3rd Grade" and it was great. I managed to videotape the whole thing and it made me cry to see how far my DD has come in one short year.
In stitching news, I spent some much deserved stash money and bought some stuff. I needed two WDW for my Hinzeit's "Handyman" and I wasn't about to buy just that. Oh the horror!!! So I purchased two Sue Hillis designs and two Dolly Mama's. I got "Domestically Challenged" and "Who are these kids and why are they calling me Mom?" I get a chuckle out of both of them. Now I need to do some fabric shopping. I have lots but mostly neutrals. I want some hand-dyeds. I also still have some stash money to spend so I may do that in the next couple days.
I am almost finished the "Too Many Tools" one. I have to finish a drill and saw and that is that. It really is a quick stitch and I am looking forward to many moments of stitching this summer.
The heat is unbearable. This is July weather. Not June!!! Everyone is feeling it including moi.
Tonight we had to attend a viewing. Our next door neighbor died suddenly on Saturday. I will miss her a lot and I so hope her DH continues to stay here. He is such a wonderful man as was Pat. God Bless You, Pat!! We will miss you.
After the viewing, DH went to work at a side job and I started laundry. After I fold the next load, I plan on stitching the night away. Both of my kids are at my sis in law's house and will be home after 9. To me, summer vacation started and they can stay as long as they like. I will be watching her son all summer so tonight is a nice mini-break for me as I have had kids since Friday. But it has been fun. I just need to re-think the routine here. I need my puter time. :)
Hopefully I will get another blog entry in before the weekend. I still need to get teacher gifts and something for DH for Father's Day. ACK!! Oh and I can't forget father in law. But I have a few days to get all this stuff together. For tonight, I plan on getting as much stuff done and also do stitching in between in the blissful quiet I have at the moment.
Good night, everyone!!!!

Sunday is Fathersday here too. I can't think of anything to buy him, but 2 daughters stitched him something! I'll show it on Sunday.
I can't imagine the heat. The weather is better here now, but no summer temperatures yet.
good luck with all you have to do.
Sounds like you've been busy, Mia! ;)
Congratulations to your DS and DD on their exams and moving up a grade.
Enjoy your new stash - I want to get Dolly Mamas Big Girl Panties - love that saying!
Wow, you really sound busy!
Congrats to both your kids, I'm sure you're a proud Mom (no matter who those kids really are ;) I hope you'll find a new routine soon, even with your nephew around.
I'm glad to hear from you Mia. Hopefully now that the kiddos are done, you'll have some time to relax and enjoy. I hope the weather keeps co-operating, it's been gorgeous the last two days!
