Ta Da!!!

CAL Square #41-Fan/Popcorn Posted by Hello
It feels great to finally post a picture of this square. This is my second attempt and it is the same size as the others. This second attempt took me about 4-5 tries to get it right. It is really bad when I didn't even need to look at the instructions to stitch it. LOL I started my next one last night. I think it is the Cluster Braid. I don't remember the number. I will post it when I look at my pattern book.

In other news, I managed 30 minutes this morning on the backstitch of Celestial Prayer. I have almost 1/2 of the sun rays finished. Once that is done which should be some time today between cleaning up and doing laundry, I will just have the backstitch around the center of the design. I am so hoping to finally post a finish for 2005. I am also anxious to start a new small project to tote with me to the pool this summer. I am looking at this as a new start as the first half of the year has been very trying to say the least.

Other than normal household stuff today, I don't have much on the agenda. I am trying so hard to keep to a schedule this week so we can enjoy the weekend.

Last night we had really bad storms. So bad that I actually made sure to shut down the computer and turn off the t.v. The kids and I sat in the kitchen just in case the power went out. It dimmed a few times but never totally went out. Today is going to be hot again but so far there is a great breeze and I turned off the AC and opened the windows. I love having the windows opened and I try to wait til the last possible moment to turn on the AC so that I can just leave the AC on for the summer and just make temperature adjustments.

My kids start exams today. Well DS does. He has two today. DD starts hers tomorrow and I am so hoping they do well. DS's teacher made a comment to him that he is doing really well at the moment and to keep it up. It may have taken him awhile but I think he is rebounding on the good side. I am secretly hoping to see his grades go up a little bit. I really have no worries with DD but she is reviewing too. Tonight will see me working with both of them as I am sure DH has to work tonight. He worked last night and got in around 10.

I do have some typing to do for the attorney I work for but I will put that off til later as I really want to get some stuff done around here instead of sitting and typing for a couple hours. I also don't know what is for dinner. I have a feeling if I don't know, the kids and I will be making a trip to the store after school. My cupboards are bare like Cathy's and I really need to do a good food shop but I keep putting it off. Well I think I have put it off long enough but I am trying not to run errands til the house is half way in shape. Hopefully by tomorrow or Thursday that will be a reality.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Wow - windows open? I love those days! Unfortunately, our window-opening days are gone for now - Texas is too hot from May until October for that business!

The square looks great, Mia. I'm so glad that there is a breeze today, it was so sticky yesterday. Maybe the storms did us some good after all, though I think my cable is still out :(
