Weekend Update

Since my last post on Saturday I did not even get online til last night and that was only for a few moments. It actually felt good to take a puter break. lol

The weekend was great. We had a great time in Delaware on Saturday night and DD is now the proud owner of a brand new metallic turquoise and pink bicycle. She really needed one and considering it is much larger than her (the next size up), she is managing well and only fell off once. We were going to buy DS a basketball net thingie but it would not fit in the van so DH is going to go one night this week to get that for DS. We couldn't have one in our old neighborhood and now that we have the room, we want to get it for him.

Sunday we spent the majority of the day at our friends' house across the street for a bbq. It was so much fun and I didn't want to leave to go see Movin' Out. Can you believe it?? Anyway, Movin' Out was great and during the show it reminded me of something like West Side Story meets Scenes from an Italian Restaurant. It was a good show and I really enjoyed it but it really put a spin on Billy Joel's music. If you ever get a chance to see it, please do. You will not be disappointed.

Since the show ended around 8:30, we ended up going back to the bbq at our friends' house by 9:15. LOL My DD stayed there and DS went to my sis in law who lives around the corner. We stayed til 10 and came home and went to bed.

Yesterday we had sis in laws, their families and father in law here for dinner. I had everything ready so I pretty much had an easy day. They left after 8 PM and I got the kids ready for bed early as they needed to get back in gear for school.

All in all it was a busy weekend but a really memorable one. Of course I never picked up my afghan or cross stitch but I will remedy that today. My house is clean and I am keeping up with the laundry so I figure I will just take it easy today as I know at 3:00 I will be thrown back into that homework mess that I will be so happy to get rid of for the summer. I am so ready for school to be out and I can just imagine how my kids are feeling too.

Tonight I just plan on vegging out and stitching. I feel like we haven't sat down since last Wednesday. But it is such a great feeling to spend so many days with friends and family and to enjoy a holiday weekend together.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Wow, school is still going on for you? We got out two weeks ago (private preschool, mind you) and public school here finished up last Friday. It is DEFINITELY summer vacation here!

I LOVE BILLY JOEL! I hope to someday see that!

Have a good week! BBQ...mmmm (smacking my lips!)

Hi Mia, thanks for explaining memorial day and summer reading. The Dutch are almost allergic to have to do anything in their free time, so I think that wouldn't work here. My children luckely love to read.
It's great you had such a nice weekend. It gives new energy to do the obligatory things.
We're gonna vote for the European constitution tomorrow. Have you heard anything about that in your country?
