Great DS Update
Oh Happy Day!!!! DS got his cast off today and was x-rayed. X-rays showed total healing!!!! YES!!!! Then the dr. came in and pressed the two bones that were fractured (well actually the growth plate and then the side bone) and DS didn't even flinch!!! YES AGAIN!!!! DS is restricted for 7 days from gym, sports, bike riding, drum playing and then he can go back to everything he enjoys. The dr. said the reason for the 7 days is because his wrist has been confined in a cast for a total of 4 weeks and a wrist brace for 2 so that is 6 weeks of barely being able to move the wrist. I am so happy.
I didn't blog about this but I have more good news. The school nurse has been torturing me about physical forms that have been sent to the school TWICE this year. She harrassed the heck out of me and I told her Nick has an appt. to be seen by his pediatrician in July. I also told her to find the forms. LOL Well she was not satisfied with me and told DS he will be the only 6th grader not getting a report card if I don't get the form. She singled him out in front of his class and teacher. Very unprofessional if you ask me. WELLLLLLLLLL that did not sit well with me. I immediately came home that day last week, called the dr. office and they moved N's appointment from July to late June. They had nothing before June 17 in the evening and I will not take him out of school for a well child physical. So now what to do? I called the school and happened to get the school secretary who works for the principal. I told her everything and how upset DS and I were. She told me she would talk to the principal. I didn't want to get the principal involved just yet. Well unknown to me, Sister agreed about the nurse's so-called tactics and DS will get a report card and not be singled out again. I went to the office this afternoon to give her a paper from DS's orthopedic dr. and told her about said appointments. She told me no worries and just give said forms to her in September. Sigh.....now the pressure is off to get this scoliosis test in the next week and a half. I can just wait til June 22.
It has been a very tiring Monday but things are looking up for a great Tuesday. I plan on chilling and stitching in the air conditioned house tonight. Our temps are over 90 as I type. YIKES!!! What happened to Spring?
Have a great evening everyone!!!!

Ha! I love the smiley - we have been like that here for about a month now! HOT HOT HOT!!!
I just used the converter to know how much that is in Celsius, but yes, that is pretty hot.
It's a bit chilly here, just 61 F. (15 Celsius). So we want to know: what happened to spring....
good luck with the heat, hope your airconditioning keeps on working.
I'm glad to hear all is well with DS's wrist. We had some awesome thunderstorms here last night and it is sooooo humid today. I had to drive 1 hour 45 min to get to the GTG on Saturday so it wasn't really very local. Well worth it though!
