My Thoughts on Life and Family and Where Every Stitch is a hope, a dream, a smile, a prayer, a good thought.

Wooosh!!

That sound you just heard was my weekend rushing by. I am exhausted but quite content with all that was accomplished.

First let me update you on DS. He is no longer wearing the immobilizer and is walking and running around just fine. Thank goodness for that. He has an appointment this afternoon to get his MRI results and further treatment of his wrist. I am sooooo hoping it is just the wrist brace.

He had a blast at the party on Friday night. He even danced...bless his heart. He said all the kids were having a great time and there was lots of food, music and fun. I really think after 11 months he is starting to feel he fits in with these kids. And from what I see and hear, these kids are great. I hope it stays that way and he finds a lifelong friend or two among them.

Saturday and Sunday were tough both physically and mentally. We spent the greater parts of both days at my parents cleaning out and packing up. I am sooo sooo happy to report that we just have to get rid of some furniture that I want to sell and I have to pack up maybe a small box or two of things I want. I took lots home yesterday and spent the afternoon washing and putting things in my china closet and curio for display. DH also decided to take my mom's cedar chest home to put in our attic so I can store some of the things I took (lots of stuff embroidered by my mom and grandmom) along with my Christening and Communion dresses and then I will add my children's things in there. By last evening I was exhausted but happy that we accomplished so much. We will go back next Monday to get the rest of the stuff, throw out the rest of the trash bags and then we will only have to go back to have someone look at/take the remaining furniture out of there. I woke up with a good feeling about it all this morning. I will be glad to put this behind me in another month.

Of course I had no ME time but that is quite okay. I can't tell you the last time I cross stitched and it is getting me frustrated. I really want a night when all I have to do is sit in front of the t.v. and stitch. Hopefully it will happen some time this week. I really have tons I want to stitch and get finished and tons I want to start. I have crocheted but nothing new to report since I finished that square last week at the MRI place. I will probably bring it with me to the drs office this afternoon.

Speaking of "Woooosh" , today is another one of those type days. Besides DS's dr. appointment, tonight is the May Procession at our school/church and both of my children must be in their sacrament clothing. My neighbor and new best friend K is doing DD's hair right after she gets home from work and then she will stay for sandwiches and then we are outta here. I still need to press my son's Confirmation robe and I also need to see what the heck I am going to wear. Right now I am leaning towards nice khaki pants, red shirt and sandals. I also need to pull out rosary beads for DD and myself. I found a beautiful set at my parents' house and I would love for DD to use them but I "think" she needs to use the ones she received from the Church on the day she made her Communion. I know DS has to use the ones he received for Confirmation. I plan on taking two sets for DD to see what every other child is using and I plan on taking mine. I just don't like the ones the Church gave. I originally wanted DS to use my dad's since he took my father's name as his Confirmation name. That is when DS said he has to use the ones he got. But anyway, the rosary issue is minor. We have them and I have a feeling I will have a purse full tonight. LOL

The rest of the week is looking busy but not as busy as the past 4 days (and I am including today). I am glad we have a long weekend coming up. I think we all deserve one.

Have a great day everyone!!!!

I can't imagine how hard it must be for you to be sorting through all your parents' possessions. But it must be nice have some of them in your own home now. My SIL was telling us about their May Procession yesterday. THe kindergarteners, including our nephew, were a very big part of the ceremony. They all came in individually and some of them did readings. It sounded really sweet. Hope you get some stitching time soon!
