Multi-Project Challenge
I have been reading with great interest at one of my favorite bbs about this Project Challenge. It seems easy enough and the more I read about it the more I want to do it. It seems like a great motivator and also a way to have finishes. It is also a way to stop buying and kitting things up only to have them sit for months or even years. I really want to see more finishes but I can't do that as I keep starting new things because I keep buying new things. You can read about it here: 10/25/50 Project Challenge There is no end date so there is no pressure to rush through my stash. This is meant to have fun and enjoy my hobby. It is also a way to get motivation needed from other like-minded stitchers. :)
It is simple enough. I will reduce my stash and after I do my set amount, I can buy new things or add things from my stash that aren't even kitted or partially kitted. I can even have exemptions. Of course I need an exemption because I am going to CATS and there is no way I can't shop at CATS. I wait for this all year and of course I wasn't even there last year so I have to make up for lost stash shopping time. :) Since this started September 1, I already have a finish with my "12 Days". So I am already ahead of the game.
At the moment, I signed on for the 10 Project Challenge as the majority of my projects are HUGE!! I have a feeling once I go through my stuff and go to CATS that I will increase the number to 25. I want to make sure I have a good mix of stuff in there. I also think I will get some of these big things done because I will want to start more big things (think Tesori).
Here are my 10 choices at the moment. I will be modifying this after CATS.
1. Tesori D'Italia
2. Coffee by Mystic Stitch
3. Rose by Heritage Stitchcraft
4. Gingerbread Boy Ornament (I bought and started this 4 years ago. I put it away with just the border to stitch. How sick is that?)
5. Snowfolk Ornament (my current car project)
6. Coffee (another Hinzeit charmed mini-sampler)
7-10. To be announced. I have some stuff kitted but I want to wait for CATS where this list could go to 25.
My exemptions are as follows:
1. CATS festivals
2. Floss, speciality threads, beads, etc. that I need for WIPS and some partially kitted stuff.
3. Fabric for my newest Mystic Stitch charts and maybe a few that I started to kit. I have to dig in stash to make sure.
4. JCS Ornament Issue (I buy this every year).
My first finish is "12 Days of Christmas" finished on September 8, 2006. I did not include that in my initial list.
So there you have it. I will probably do a little tweeking of my lists and exemptions but by October 1, it will all be modified and already well underway.
As soon as I figure it out, my projects will go in my sidebar. I am so computer illiterate, it ain't funny.

Hi Mia! My name is Robin and I have enjoyed your blog for some time now. I live in Bel Air, Maryland not too far from Philly. Thank you for posting about the Challenge it is something I definitely need! I had to chuckle about your son's first concert. My daughter's first concert was The Spice Girls! My husband is a Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Stones kind of fan and God Bless him he took our daughter to see the Backstreet Boys (several times), NSYNC, Britney and Christina. He even took her to see The A-Teens a group that only did ABBA tunes! lol Now she is in college and their tastes are more alike. It is wonderful that your son 1) has such great musical taste and 2) that you took him and could share that experience. I am sure my husband would have enjoyed the Who more than BSB! Take care and The 12 days of Christmas is beautiful. Robin
Thanks for joining. I wish you the best of luck with stash reduction. See you on the BB. Your 12 Days of Christmas looks awesome.
