Mom! You Rock!!!

3 Concert Tickets: $300.00
Concert T-Shirt: $35.00
Parking: $10.00
Son's First Concert Experience: PRICELESS

Last night was the opening show of The Who's World Tour. It is awesome in itself to see The Who still performing and still rocking after all these years. But what is even more awesome is taking my son to his first concert and to see the look of awe on his face that he was actually sitting in Section 116, Row 18, Seat 10 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. Okay, he stood the whole time and really got into the show but that is okay. His mom and dad were on either side of him rocking right along. The kid couldn't believe I knew all the words to the older tunes. I realize I am older than dirt, but hey, I love a good rock show. Roger Daltry is older but still looks hot. As for Pete Townsend, what can I say? The man can play guitar and sing and jump around like he is still 20 when he is really 61. I hope I have that much energy when I am that age.

I can't describe in words how I feel at this moment. I shared yet another milestone with my now teenager. Going with him to his first concert. He loves the music we listen to so I am happy to oblige when someone comes to town. He had such a good time and I had an even better time standing beside him. I have to tell you that there were many children my son's age at this concert. He has been bugging to go to a concert for ages now and we just didn't know what to do. We have been in his position in a different time and hey, I am a MOM first. I know what goes on at concerts. So when we saw that The Who was coming we knew this would be the perfect first concert for DS. We love The Who, we knew the crowd would be our age and older and we also knew that there would definitely be some children in the crowd. It couldn't have been more perfect. I even made friends with the two boys in front of me. They were in their 20's and kept turning around and talking to me. They became my buds and I enjoyed watching them rock last night too. DH thought I was about to adopt them at the end of the night. He said they took a liking to me. Cute but I digress.

Leading up to yesterday, DS warned me to not sing, dance or otherwise embarrass him. What? Moi? Embarrass him? Nah...okay well a little. I think by the second song, he was singing and dancing right along with me and not once did he roll his eyes or move away from me. LOL How great is that?

It was a great night and we are looking forward to our next concert. Yes there is another concert coming up. This summer, DH, DD and myself have sat glued to the t.v. watching Rockstar:Supernova. I just love bad boy Tommy Lee of Motley Crue fame and the other members who will make up Supernova. (they are Gilby Clarke of Guns N Roses and Jason Newsted of Metallica). A few weeks ago, they released their tour dates and yep you guessed it...We have 4 tickets to see Supernova in January. DD can't wait and now DS can't wait. I love concerts as does DH so we have something to look forward to on a cold winter night. DD and I have decided if Dilana wins the lead singer spot tonight that we will have a pink streak in our hair on the night of the concert. If it is Lukas, it will be white. Both DH and DS have rolled their eyes at us but hey, I have been told I ROCK!!! So come January my 9 year old DD will have her first concert experience. Hopefully, DS will still think I rock when that concert rolls around. LOL

P.S. I will have a stitching post tomorrow because I want to provide the info on Coffee. Have a great day!!

Sounds like you had a great time. I have yet to go to a concert at the Wachovia center, but I've been to a few concerts at the Spectrum.
My son will go to concerts too. When he was 10, my DH and I took him to see James Taylor (my favorite & his first concert) and my son was hot and thirsty the entire time (it was Mann Music Center at the end of July and we were in the balcony). Live and learn.
