Stashaholics Anonymous Anyone?
Does anyone know of a local chapter of SA in Pennsylvania? I am in dire need of it and it is all because I started organizing my stash this afternoon. Gosh, where did it all come from? I do not remember ever buying this much stuff. I think the stash fairy puts it there when I am asleep. Yeah, that's it!! Stash fairy!!! Must be because I know "I" didn't buy all this stuff. That is my story and I am sticking to it!! So :P~~~~~~
Anyway, it was a fun afternoon and of course, there is so much I want to stitch. I have tons of BIG projects that range from Mirabilia, Chatelaine, Little House, Silver Lining, Mystic Stitch and more. These are just the ones I remember off the top of my head. I have seen how my tastes have changed over the years and there are things in there I never would have thought doing. Of course, I am not parting with any of it. I plan to stitch it all and every thing else I buy. :) So I guess I better start now. LOL
The one thing I did notice is I could use more fabric and will remedy that at CATS and Silkweaver sales and so on. It is nice to open that drawer and be able to start something right away.
For the moment, I placed on top the things that really could have a home here. I have coffee themed things for my kitchen (once it is redone), house/villa type things for the living room/dining room, and florals for the living room/bedroom/hallways/powder room. Of course I have lots of Christmas charts and should do something about that. I have NO Halloween/Autumn stuff. Can you believe that? Autumn is my favorite time of year and I have nothing, nada, zip. I think that will be fixed at CATS or maybe I can leave a note for the stash fairy.
Right now I have a WIP for the kitchen, family room and powder room. They are Coffee, Tesori and the Rose (remember the white one with the blue background?). They are all HUGE and here I am ready to add more. Yes, more!! I am insane for even thinking that but yes I am. That is what happens when you open a drawer and find something or lots of somethings screaming to be stitched. Sigh...I need more hours, more arms, less sleep, a maid, a cook, something, anything.
Since summer is winding down, it is the perfect time for me to sink my needles into my bigger projects. But how? Do any of you have any ideas? Should I try hours? Daily rotation? HELP ME!! I have tried weekly and that doesn't work for me. I have no will power. I have rotated in the past but I can't find the perfect rotation for me. I am open for ideas.
For now, I plan on having Tesori, Coffee and Rose and will probably start something else because it is screaming at me. I will finish 12 Days and this little gingerbread boy I found that is ALMOST finished. It is a Lorri Birmingham freebie that I got at CATS like 3-4 years ago. I will also find a small car project. It will probably be a Christmas-y one because I have nothing Halloween (so sad about that). Coffee and Rose will see a finish hopefully early next year. I know Tesori is probably a year away from finishing unless I give up sleep. So now I will think about what I am going to do. Like I said, I am open for ideas. Hopefully I will have a plan in the next week or so. First, I have to get my kids back to school.
But it was a fun day. I still have magazines to go through. I am hoping for smallish projects I can file away for my car/travel projects. I am blessed to have a craft I enjoy and the stash money to do it. If worse comes to worse, I will call myself a "collector of stash". LOL
P.S. I want to buy a sampler. I don't have any in my stash.

I can't help you with a SA group but I can help you shop at CATS ;)
Congrats on getting started on your stash organizing. I haven't had a whole lot of luck on doing a rotation. I just sort of jump from project to project depending on what I'm in the mood for. A lot of people do very well with rotations - particularly those that have a designated day of the week to work on specific pieces. Good luck and let us know what you decide!
I'm rather hopeless with rotation stitching as I generally don't have enough stitching time for one. I'm hoping that changes. :D
If you find a SA group please call me. I bought more stash today. Almost afraid to post as people will probably say-she has no time for stitching all she does is buy stuff! LOL
