Full Swing
As I type, both of my children are probably starting one of their two scheduled exams for the day. Yesterday DS had his science exam and while he said it was easy, I sure hope he is right. He has been having trouble in science and we studied very hard for this exam. The poor boy was up til midnight on Monday going over stuff that we went over for hours before.
This morning DD couldn't even eat breakfast. All she had was a glass of orange juice. Instead, we pulled out her Religion studybook and went over some things including the Ten Commandments.
As I drove them to school, I told them to just do their best and take their time. This is it and after today they don't have to look at these subjects til September. I don't think I eased their butterflies. I know mine are in full swing and will be til I get them from school today.
Dianne and Von, thank you so much for your kind words. My children are not geniuses but they know the work and do pretty well with their grades. DS could do better and DD always does well. It just gets so overwhelming when you are told to go over stuff learned from September til May. If it is overwhelming for me, I can just imagine what it is like for a 12 year old and 8 year old.
Tonight studying shouldn't be too hard. They both have ILA (English, Phonics, Vocabulary) and Part 2 of their Math exams. Already, I told DD she doesn't have to go over math again. We studied hard for that one. The only thing I will go over is her 11 and 12 multiplication tables. DS is pretty confident with Math. He basically does well and pulled his grades up over the course of the year. Last night he was going over the various rules. I will go over the ILA stuff with both children.
I did manage to stitch some on Tesori last night and California Wine Sampler while waiting for the kids. I tell you, it is true that stitching really does relax you. I completely zone out and concentrate on my stitching and for a little bit of time, I can forget Exam or Hell Week as I like to call it.
I also printed off this cute freebie from Cross Eyed Cricket Collection that I want to do as a pool project. Of course it is something for July 4th but I could probably get it finished in time. You can see it here ... Independence Flip Flop I am going to do it on stuff from my stash and finish it into a cube. I have 16 ct. light blue aida, some of the krenik and some metallic in the shades called for. So I will see how it goes. If it is not done for July 4 too bad. I will keep it on display all summer. :)
I best be moving along. I have laundry and straightening to do and want to get it done as I have to run to the grocery store this afternoon to grab some stuff for the kids' lunches and dinners for the rest of the week.
Have a great day everyone!
