Very Long Update!!
Okay, you have been warned that this is going to be a long weekend update.
I soooooo wanted to post an entry for my DS's birthday on Sunday. I even wrote the entry to be posted on Jully 3 but never even came near this computer that day because of the festivities going on in our house. This may be late but Happy Birthday to my Son. My little man is now 12 and I have no idea where the time went. I still remember the moment he was born and everything that happened between then and now. He has grown from the most wonderful baby into a little boy and now he really is a little man. He gave me the greatest job title ever given....MOM!! I would not trade it for anything in the world.
We had family over on Sunday and it could not have been more perfect. The weather cooperated and was not humid and just right. Everyone stayed outside and the food and drinks were great, the company even better and the smiles on DS were priceless. He really enjoyed his special day. Of course we are still celebrating because for the longest time he thought that July 4th was for him because he was born. He knows better now but I know he thinks his birthday is so extended because of our Nation's birthday the next day. He has saved money from his Confirmation and now his birthday and today as a surprise I will take him to buy his brand new video system. He wants one of those PSP things by Playstation. DH took him yesterday afternoon but more to show him the stores closed early in celebration of July 4. We told him to wait until tonight but if I get all of my things finished including a run to the grocery store for a few things, I will take him to Circuit City.
Yesterday was the rare day that DH was home and did not have anything to do. We cleaned up from the day before in the morning and spent the entire afternoon at the pool. It was so much fun. We then went to our neighbor's for even more bbq. I have a feeling we will all be eating leftovers for many days to come. Thank goodness we love bbq.
Tonight I am making spaghetti and crabs for dinner and having our neighbors over. I am watching their daughter today (she slept over) so that they can enjoy a day together. It is fun having friends like K and K where we can swap children and have a date. Once you have children it is hard to get an evening or day out together and these times are so precious when we can do it and actually have someone ready and able to watch our children.
Last night we had some fireworks in the yard and then we came in to watch the Welcome America celebration with Elton John on t.v. Gosh that man still has it. I just love Elton and couldn't wait to hear "Philadelphia Freedom". The City just about exploded when he sang it. Even though I know it is not about Philadelphia (it is about Billie Jean King), it has been adopted by our City as an unofficial theme song. LOL It is something to experience when you hear him sing it HERE!!! The guys had fallen asleep but the girls and I enjoyed dancing in DD's room to the music. It was a fun night.
Of course today I am exhausted. I really do not want to do anything at all. I really don't have anything to do either as it has all been done. So pretty much I will go with the flow today so to speak.
In stitching news, I did finish "Too Many Tools" on Friday afternoon. I will post a picture later today or tomorrow. I decided for my next little project to do a freebie from the UK magazine Cross Stitcher. It is a flower fairy and comes with a cute little mount for it. It is the Marigold Flower fairy and will go in DD's room. It says it will take about 18 hours. I may clock my time to see if I am far off the mark of the average stitcher. I do think I stitch slow so I will see how I do. Hopefully tonight I will get back to my rotation with Fire Dragon and Coffee. I didn't pick up either during the weekend as there wasn't time. For the next couple days I don't have any evening plans (yet) and this will be a good time to get back in the swing of things.
I hope everyone had a great July 4th the the USA and I hope everyone has a great day ahead!!!

Happy belated birthday to your son!
Glad you had a good weekend - have a nice day today!
Hi Mia,
congratulations on your son's birthday! 12 years means you're not longer just a child: you're very much on your way to be a grown up!
July 4th is very meaningless here. And very bad weather too.
Hope you find the time to stitch a little.
