Sunny Sunday

It seems like weekends whoosh on by anymore. As I said on Friday, we had nothing major planned and nothing major happened. I figure while I have some time before we need to get to Mass, I would do a blog entry updating my weekend.

First off, never start a rotation on a Friday. Yes, you guessed it, I haven't put a stitch in since then. I am happy to report that I did a great hour on my dragon using my gridblock way of doing things. I figured I did a little more than 100 stitches. I should have a picture some time during the week to show my latest progress. Friday night we ended up at the neighbors' for a few drinks and some laughs and I never got to Coffee.

Yesterday we went to the pool and it was just too darn hot. I couldn't get in the water because of TOTM still being heavy. My mistake!! I couldn't just get comfortable. I managed to stay for 4 hours because the kids were having so much fun. We came home, I showered and then I laid down for an hour. The heat was just intense around here yesterday and there is more of that today. I think we will skip the pool til tomorrow.

DH is redoing our powder room. He started back in the winter and actually was making good progress and ripped it out and redid the design. This second time is much better. With his work schedule, he has been hit or miss with it. Well I am happy to report that as of yesterday, the walls are finished and we spent a nice portion of last evening in Home Depot. I have picked out wall tile, floor tile and paint. We already have the sink and granite counter. I have picked out the toilet so it is a matter of picking it up. I also took a ton of paint chips and we are leaning toward a warm gold color. So it looks like the room could be painted in this next week along with tile being ordered. The wall tile they have in stock. The floor tile has to be ordered. But things are looking good and I will have another working bathroom back in no time. I can't wait. It has been awhile.

Today we have Mass which DS is altar server. I am so hoping we get our new priest. He started on Monday so I have no idea what he looks like yet. Maybe today will be the day for that. After Mass, I will come home, do some laundry and veg out with the kids. Chances are, I will stitch. We are having dinner with the neighbors tonight as they invited us over. I was going to make something but it is looking like I will pick something up for dessert. It should be an early night as everyone but me and S have work tomorrow. I am hoping to be home fairly early so I can get back to Coffee. I have been reading the bbs and blogs and it seems everyone around me is having these big finishes. And here I am 6 months into the year with one small finish, another small almost finish and huge projects in bags all around me.

Well I better get moving if we are going to get to Church. Have a great day everyone!!

Isn't it great to have a handy man around the house? My DH can fix just about anything. Often when things aren't working, Joshua immediately says "Daddy can fix it." It's supposed to stay this hot for the rest of the week! Thank God for AC.

Sorry I haven't commented much lately Mia, just been busy. Glad to hear that you are enjoying the summer and pool. I wish we had a pool near us - that's one thing I really miss from my old apartment.
