Back to Reality...

Today is the day I need to get my butt in gear. We are having about 25 people here on Sunday and I have food to buy and prepare, a house to clean and laundry to do. Since the beginning of June, it has been run, run, run. When I don't run, I am sitting around with the kids. Well not today. I am under the wire and by the end of the today, I plan on having all laundry washed and folded and floors mopped and bedrooms dusted. Big ambitions, but it is so doable. The house is not really bad. Just messy with stuff here and there that needs to be put away. The major things are the cleaning of bathrooms and floors. The laundry, well it has increased greatly in the past few days because of going to the pool. Today there is no pool. The weather looks like rain and it must have rained early this morning as our patio furniture is wet. DD is having a friend over so she will be occupied and DS can entertain himself or call a friend. Wish me luck as if I get this all done, I can run the rest of the week. LOL

In fact, here is a laugh. My sis in law needs to have her car serviced because of her air conditioning not working properly. I told my bro in law to tell her to take my car because it will give me an excuse to stay home. I swear I look at the van in the driveway and have to use it everyday. LOL Well not today. I am ignoring my van as sis in law doesn't want to borrow it. It can call me all it wants. It is staying put in the driveway til tomorrow. LOL

On the stitching front, I am really seeing progress with the dragon. Coffee is another story. For 4 days I have been working for one uninterrupted hour on the dragon. I have managed 5 fully stitched gridblocks and the filling in stitches above those gridblocks. I am now going to go underneath those 5 gridblocks to the halfway point of the chart which is huge. Those are mostly just columns of stitches here and there and lots of the black fabric will be showing. It is hard to explain but hopefully by Friday I will post another progress picture and you will see what I mean. Thanks again Jo for the great idea about 1 hour everyday. This may work for me yet.

As for Coffee, well I am managing one hour on that too. By the time I sit down at night lately, I have only been stitching 2 hours. 1 on dragon and 1 on Coffee. If I can get myself to sit earlier in the evening, I can manage 2-3 hours on Coffee and will see better progress. I did almost finish up the pink border leaving the coffee beans for later. My goal is to have that finished up by the weekend. I don't know yet as the coffee beans are about 15 different shades of brown. Again, I will post another picture by the weekend.

Well I best be getting along for now. I want to be productive today while I have this motivation going.

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Wow, you're ambitious today! I'll be doing the same thing this time next week to get ready for a Mary Kay party I'm having for a friend of mine. Good luck!

I'm pleased to hear that you are making progress with your stitching (the photos look great!). I find that if I stitch a little each day, and even if it doesn't seem much, it all adds up and before you know it you are making progress. Hope you got all your chores done!
