Perfect Sunday

It has been a long time since we had a day like today. First off, the day was gorgeous and the temps went above 70. DH had the day off and the kids had fun with friends all day long.

DH and I have been trying our hardest to get the house together for the First Holy Communion. He worked outside doing out windows and I worked inside trying to get my dining room in order. It is all cleaned and polished and the china closet is ready to be filled with my treasures along with some of my mom's. It is her dining room set that my DH delivered here last week. I love the set and plan on having the very middle of the hutch filled with some of her precious things. :)

DS went to sis in laws for the day to play with his cousin and DD played with her friend Kaitlyn all day. K's parents are good friends and live a few houses away across our street. So it was fun all around. They were doing yard work and we were doing windows. We were all back and forth all day and ended up there for a beer when all work was done. Well that beer turned into another beer along with burgers for dinner. I love impromptu days like today.

For the past couple days, my DS has been playing with a boy up the street who lives two houses away from K (our friends we ate with tonight). Well the little brother played with Marie and Kaitlyn today. The mom came down and introduced herself and told us that her older son likes playing with mine. She also complimented me on how well behaved and mannerly my DS is and she said for him to come over any time to play. Awwww....made my heart burst. Her DS did stop at our house today but none of us were there. I told her I would tell Nick. Well DS is over the moon that he is FINALLY making a friend on our street. DH and I are also relieved. So all in all it was a great day.

Actually it was a great weekend. We had no plans but we had lots of fun in all we did. We picked out new patio furniture and grill and hopefully all will go well with the concrete pour and patio making this week. I am hoping by this time next weekend, we will have a patio to have a place to sit and enjoy the outdoors. I miss that since we moved here. We had nothing really and we were used to what we had at the old house. We also joined the local pool club online and I am anxiously awaiting an email from them. I guess it will be tomorrow. DS wants to join the swim team. That would be cool as he is a fish in water.

For the first time in a long time I am looking forward to summer with new friends and new adventures. I hope this perfect day turns into the perfect summer. We sure could use one as the past few have not been so perfect for us.

In stitching news, I did nothing this weekend. I did manage one or two rows of an afghan square but that is about it. I can't wait to get to it tomorrow night.

Have a great evening everyone!!

It always feels so good to have someone compliment your children's behavior. You can be confident that you're doing a good job when you get that kind of feedback!
