Typical Tuesday

Things are shaping up to be a typical type Tuesday around here. I am trying my hardest to keep on top of laundry and housework and will do that as soon as I have my fix of the net and my coffee. Right now it is raining and by this afternoon the temps will drop rapidly to freezing and wet snow will start and then by tonight we will have zero wind chills. Talk about March coming in like a lion. I want spring. Yesterday we had a brief glimpse of what spring will be like. It was beautiful here and the kids even got to play outside and DH did burgers on the grill for dinner. I even had the door open for a bit in the afternoon to air out the house. I loved smelling that brief smell of spring. Today we are back in the muck. Oh well. It will get here soon enough.

I started my second afghan square last night and this morning I saw a mistake. So I ripped it out. But it is going along nicely and I may have this one done before the end of the week. I would like to see an early 2006 finish for this. The kids were impressed when they saw my square and even DH made a comment that he liked it. I think he secretly thinks I won't finish. I know I will as doing a small square at a time is giving me a sense of accomplishment and the motivation to go on. I figure after the next square or two, I will start stitching in rows so I can finish as I go. Right now, I need to reteach myself to crochet. Yesterday the border and edging really did me in but I know as I go along, it will get easier.

I also cross stitched last night but not as much as I wanted. I have these two coffee beans left to do and they are in about 20 colors each. Some are just one stitch. So I did all the one stitches last night and some time today or this evening, I will finish in the black and then move onto the next section. After the next section is when I will post a pic so you can see how much is done. Tonight the Amazing Race is on and that is usually good stitching for me. I don't move the entire hour and sit and watch and stitch.

I better get moving along so I can finish my stuff before I get the kids from school.
Have a great day everyone!!!

I've just had to rip my 2nd square too - I wasn't changing the colours over correctly. Never mind, I've redone it beyond the point where I ripped, so I'm happy.

I'm glad we're all doing this together - I'm really enjoying knitting the individual squares.

Sorry about the second square... Are our DHs related or what? When I showed him the leaflet he asked me if I'm going to produce next UFO. As if I had a really large number of UFOs (well, at least if we forget the qulting UFOs). And I've had a really big number of finishes lately so he shoud remember that!! But when I reminded him that I finishes the crochet afghan for my DD, he said he's OK with me crocheting an afghan for me :)

Don't worry about the double post, it happens all the time to me. I ran out of 739, which is used for more than half of the bottom of the dress! I'll be able to pick it up tomorrow, more than likely. For now, I'm just stitching around it.
