2 Down, 61 To Go
Square #2-Half Double Crochet
Here is what I finished last night. I tell ya, this gave me fits. First thing yesterday morning, I saw a big mistake and ripped out almost the whole thing. Then yesterday afternoon, I finished the square while waiting for the kids. It looked great. While my kids were doing homework, I started the border. ACK!!! I ripped the border out two more times and then put it down. It is tough on that rough side. Last night I wasn't going to touch it, but I did and managed to finish the borders. I think it looks nice. It is a tad longer than my first square but I think that is because of the stitch. I did measure to get the 7 inches and it was a tad over but there was nothing I could do about it because if I ripped out the row, it would have been about 6 3/4 inches. With my next square, I think I will use the digital because the scanner is squishing it. It doesn't look so crooked as it does in the picture.
I love the sense of accomplishment I am feeling but my Coffee design suffered last night. I managed to finish one of the two coffee beans. Tonight, I plan on just cross stitching. I feel I am making good progress with my afghan squares. After all, my goal was one a week and here I have two and will start the third this afternoon.
I also love stitching this along with fellow stitchers. We are a great bunch and I have learned a lot as I have had to refer to pictures, especially Jo's, to check my borders. I have also enjoyed seeing the colors everyone is picking out. They are all so beautiful.
Yesterday we had this snow/ice mix and today was a horrible commute to school. My street was a sheet of ice. Once I got to the main roads, it was okay with just patches here and there but for today I plan on no errands. But that is okay in the grand scheme of my day as I have stripped my DD's bed and have her window open a crack to air the room out of all the germies that have been lingering this long winter. After I get my net fix and finish my coffee, I will dust and vacuum her room and keep stuffing the washer and dryer with all of her bedding. Tomorrow is DS and then on Friday will be mine. I could very well get to DS today but I don't want to push it. I still don't know what is coming home for homework. LOL
Have a great day everyone!!!!

Mia, it looks great! I don't know yet how I'm going to do the edging on mine - the book isn't very clear on that part LOL. I love seeing your progress - keep posting the pictures!

I've had a tough time with the edging, too. I can't always get exactly the number of stitches I'm supposed to have on the sides. A lot of my squares are a quarter of an inch or so different than the others, too. I just said that will give my afghan character. It's just going to get spit up on and milk spilled on it anyway!
