My Thoughts on Life and Family and Where Every Stitch is a hope, a dream, a smile, a prayer, a good thought.

Tuesday Tidbits

Well it is a good thing I pulled out the winter coats and washed the kids' coats. It is downright wintry outside right now. Brrrrrrr!!!!

Yesterday DD was home with a bad cold and I took advantage of her laying on the sofa all day by washing their winter coats. Good thing because we really needed to bundle up today. I just need to find the box with the gloves, hats, etc. I have a feeling I know where they are, it is just getting DH to get them down for me.

DD is feeling better today and happily went to school. DS had a great day yesterday and we are hoping for another one today. DH and I have a conference with the teacher on Thursday at 8 AM. DH is going to work late that day so he can come with me. I think DH has more issues to take up with her than I do. Fine by me. He can do all the talking. I think I am going to have to bite my tongue so I don't let out the temper that has been building up. Chances are, I will speak up but I need to choose the words wisely. I don't want to put a target on my kid for the rest of the year.

So last night in our house it was relative calm. Maybe we are at a turning point with school. Maybe...after all it was just one day. We still have a long way to go to get through 6th grade.

In other news, I re-joined the Crafter's Choice Book Club. Years ago before internet, I was a member and was quickly disillusioned because I was constantly getting stuff I didn't order because the reply cards would get to them late or not at all. There was a book I wanted and I saw a children's Betty Crocker Cook Book that I wanted for DD for a Christmas present, so I rejoined. I got my order yesterday. It was 4 books for $1.00 each. I also got myself a Knitting and Crocheting for Dummies book and a Hip To Crochet book. I have been toying for a year or more about trying my hand at knitting and/or crocheting as a break from cross stitch. This was my opportunity. As a child, my mom taught me to knit and crochet but it has been so long that I probably forgotten how. So I may try my hand at a hat and scarf for DD and see where it takes me. I don't want to replace cross stitch as there is too much I want to stitch and am stitching but sometimes, I need to do something else other than nothing. This may be just what I need to fill that void. I will keep you posted on this adventure.

Today it is pretty ho-hum here. I have the usual laundry, straightening, cooking but in between I plan on stitching on the Coffee design. I am so close to finishing up the first page that I figure I may be back to the dragon by the end of the week. I don't know. It depends on how many color changes are left to do. But it is shaping up to be a pretty design and I will definitely post a picture. I need to take a few pictures of my other work and post my favorites, the Village Alphabet being one. It is under glass but I will do my best to take a picture without the flash so you can see why I am so proud of this accomplishment.

Well I best be getting myself together. The sooner I get the laundry started, the sooner I can stitch a little bit.

Have a Great Day Everyone!!!!

I hope your laundry is done!
Hi, I saw you visited my blog and left a few friendly words. Thanks. I saw also that you linked me. Wauw, I like that. Can I link you too? Out of curiosity: in wich part of the USA do you live? It is difficult to imagine for us in our very small country, but I'm interested of where you live.
I have knitted and crocheted when I was younger and I sometimes still do. But I have decided to spend almost all my time to cross stitch or needle work. I like that the most.
Have a nice day

Anneke, I posted an answer in your blog but I will post it here too. I did finish laundry. LOL I live in Pennsylvania on the east coast of the USA. I live just outside the city of Philadelphia. And you are more than welcome to add my blog to your list. Have a nice evening.
