Update from the Burbs

I can't believe it has almost been a week since I blogged. Bad me!!! To be honest, I just haven't had the time. I have been at school being a substitute lunch mother and that is smack in the middle of my day. My mornings have been showering, make the beds, maybe a load of laundry and that is that. After lunch duty, I come home, have lunch and prepare dinner and then get the kids. Since the t.v. is no longer down here in the family room, I have had days where I haven't even set foot in this room. And then there is the school stuff at night. DS just finished a biggie project and DD has a book report on the horizon that is due on Monday. It just never ends. I need a vacation.

Anyway, I am trying to get comfortable stitching in my living room. I did it before in my old house but I can't find my "spot" now. So for now, I am not rotating because I don't have the luxury of a closet nearby to store my projects and I can't leave them sitting at the end of the sofa because it looks messy and there is that chance that one or more can get ruined by a curious kitty or a friend who happens to stop by with her son who can destruct a room in 30 seconds flat. I want my stitching nowhere near someone like that. For now, I have been stitching on Coffee because that seems to be the most portable and easiest put-away project. I plan on getting out my stitching stand for da dragon but that won't be til after we finish emptying the family room and organizing the attic. But I am enjoying my time with Coffee and with any luck will have another page of the chart done soon.

I have no pictures of my finish to show you as of yet. I haven't put it together yet. I just haven't had the time. I plan on trying to cut the coreboard today and then ironing and maybe assembling it later today. I don't know. I really want to give it to my girlfriend by this weekend so maybe that will be my motivation to get it all finished today.

Unfortunately my housework has exploded all around me. Because I really haven't been home or had a long stretch to do stuff, my house is suffering and there are dust bunnies everywhere. I started the day by cleaning the kitchen. Now I have laundry going and as soon as I write this and surf a little bit I will do the dining room and living room.

Tomorrow I would love to see the bedrooms and upstairs bathroom done but I have to do the lunch mother thing again tomorrow. So I will see how that goes. If my laundry gets finished, I can breeze through bedrooms and the bathroom over the weekend. Not something I like to do when the kids are home but it has to be done. Lucky for us, we really have no big plans for the weekend so maybe I will have an enjoyable (ha ha) Saturday scrubbing the toilet. LOL

Since last week, the family room is getting to the point, where DH has to box up a few things and place them in the attic. We ordered our gas fireplace and that will be installed some time in mid-late February. We also picked out the cabinets for our bar, desk and kid's work area. He has to order the windows (no trouble there because he works for a major window company) and then he will demolish and rebuild. During that time, I get to choose carpet, tile and paint. Fun stuff. NOT!! I know I will change my mind about a 1000 times. I am so hoping he starts the demolishing some time next week. I hate the anticipation and I also hate knowing that this could very well go into spring which is not what I want.

There goes my dryer so I better scoot. Have a great day everyone and know that even though I am not commenting on a lot of your blogs, I am trying to read a few everyday. :)
