AAAAAARRRRGGHHH!!!

WOW, two posts in one day!! I guess I am making up for lost time. But you will all understand the reason for this post. The people I live with just don't get it.

I happily pulled out my 9 squares and decided to start piecing it together as I had some time before dinner. I am starting at the bottom so I can just pull the row onto my lap as I piece together. I did the first two squares and it looked great. I then started to attach the Cluster Braid (#44) and it wasn't lining up. I couldn't pull on it. It just would not fit!!! I took out my trusty measuring tape and saw the reason. With the borders it doesn't even measure 8 inches. ACK!!! These squares need to measure 8 1/2 inches complete or 8 1/4 inches with some pull room. I do not know what the heck happened. Well I do know what happened. I NEVER measured it when I did it. I just eyeballed it. Sigh... I unpicked the dreaded square and will now start it over. So that will be my CAL tomorrow. And this square took me awhile to get the hang of. I was doing happy dancing all over the place when I finally finished that one and here I am doing it over again. Oh well!!! Such is life and I am glad I am piecing together now and saw it.

Because of the boo boo, I then measured and placed the other squares and they all match up perfectly so I only need to do this one square over again.

Oh I could bang my head against the wall right about now but I won't. For tonight, I am not thinking afghan or crocheting. I am going to happily cross stitch. I want to have at least one progress picture to share with you this week.
