Happy Friday and Happy Weekend Everyone!!
Gosh, this week felt long to me for some reason. I don't know why. Maybe it is the weather, maybe it is the residual from my cold or the fact that everyone in this house has the cold. I don't know. I am just happy it is Friday and a long weekend for us. :)
I don't have any progress to report this week. How pathetic am I? I think I did a total of 25 cross stitches and countless crochet ones. Unfortunately, there are no pictures to show of any sort of progress because it doesn't look like anything.
Since my crochet square disaster, I am now redoing the Cluster Braid. Sigh...I think I did this 10 times and now this is the 12th. Yes, 12th because I have had to change hook sizes to get it to the correct gauge. I am about 1/2 way through it after a slow start because this one gave me fits all 12 times I did it. I am going to work on it today so hopefully over the weekend, I can continue piecing the afghan together. My goal is to have a fresh brand new square to start next week. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Anyway, after my last post I went to stitch on the gift for my friend. I happily stitched for about an hour and started doing the backstitch lettering. After two words, it just wasn't looking right to me. I was OFF by one thread way back in the beginning. So I frogged it. I also put it down and haven't picked it up since Wednesday evening. I really want this finished as I know it will brighten up my friend's day. So my goal for tonight and the weekend, is to stitch like a madwoman to get it finished by early next week. There is not much more to do. I just don't want to have to do any more ripping out.
We will be out and about this weekend but I should have plenty of time to stitch and spend with the kids. Tonight DD has a birthday party to go to. Tomorrow late afternoon/evening, we will go out for dinner and then some stores so the kids can spend some of their Christmas money. Sunday is a day home other than Mass and then Monday, we will be out with my friend and her daughter for a day at the mall. Fun times ahead and I am looking forward to it.
The kids have a half day today and as soon as I pick them up, we have a couple errands to run. After that, I plan to come home, finish up laundry and stitch til dinner. That is how I would like my long weekend to start off.
Have a great weekend everyone!! Maybe if I finish up something, I will post a picture. LOL Just don't hold your breath!! LOL

You sound like you have been one busy crafty woman! I haven't been able to pick anything up for the past three days (hmmm...wonder if the sick little man had any influence on that - ya think???). Hopefully this weekend will be different!
Enjoy your weekend! Hopefully you'll be nice and fresh for some trouble-free stitching next week :)
Hope you're having a nice weekend. I'm so behind in reading your posts, I'm curious about your crochet disaster. I'll have to back track. I hope you are able to finish your stitching project this weekend.
I'm glad you should have had a great weekend. Your week was filled with crafting disasters, so you have earned a healing weekend. LOL.
I was thinking about your square: can't you crochet a similar border so that it will fit? Or am I too optimistic?
I hope you'll have succeeded in your cross stitch for your friend
