Seeing the Light...
First off, thanks so much for your kind words after my last blog entry. I was just about ready to explode on Tuesday and it really never got better til yesterday. At least yesterday was a little more normal around here. I wasn't here most of the time with my volunteer stuff at school and grocery shopping. I needed a day out of the house.
Judy, I am a legal assistant by trade (I was trained on the job and never got my paralegal certificate though I can do paralegal work). I started working at home for my boss when my DS was almost 2. He is a lawyer and works with estates mainly with other stuff thrown in for good measure. I hope someday to go back to law when I decide to work out of the house again when the kids are older. For now, I like what I do normally. LOL
Now onto today. It finally feels like November here. I really wish I made the kids wear warmer jackets today because of the wind. I have parent/teacher conferences later today and I am so hoping it goes well. Some good thoughts thrown my way for DS and DD will be much appreciated. I already know DS will have to be tutored again. I was so hoping to hold off til after the holidays but I won't be able to. I have to act now. DD should be fine. I don't expect any surprises from DD's teacher (at least I hope so).
I had to take the kids to school this morning and it was so nice to be part of the moms and dads I miss so much in the mornings. I ended up chatting til almost 9 AM. Once I came home, I made coffee and started on the small amount of boxes left of DD's toys. I am happy to report at 11 AM, I have a pile of Barbie, Bratz, and Polly Pocket. They just need to be put away in their containers and put in the now cleaned Closet of Doom. I am so happy. With any luck, before I go to pick up the kids, I will have the entire family room cleaned, dusted and vacuumed. If I can accomplish that it will really make my otherwise crappy week!!
The kids are off tomorrow because of the parent/teacher conferences that will be held tomorrow morning. So it will be nice to have a 3-day weekend. Tomororw I want to make a trip to Joann's and maybe AC Moore for some ornament finishing stuff. I also need to go to Office Max to make a copy of my next ornament. I don't have the details handy but it is from JCS Ornament Issue 2003. I think I am going to do that in a cube. I like those and have enjoyed seeing them in other stitcher's blogs.
If all goes well, I may be able to do my craft closet (also in the family room) too. It is just messy and needs straightening. I also want to pull out my container of magazines to search for my other ornament issues to pick out a few to do in the coming year.
The past couple nights I have stitched on Rose and am now below the half way mark on the chart. I am also almost finished with Star Light. It is stitching up quick now that I am doing the words. I did Light and Bright just yesterday sitting in the car. All that is left is a couple trees, moon, star and border and the word Star twice. I also have to start stalking the mailman. I got notice that my order from Stitching Bits and Bobs is on its way. I can't wait to see my new stuff. Hopefully tomorrow will be show and tell in my blog.
Have a great day everyone!

I hope all goes well at the parent/teacher meeting!!!
My sister just had her first PTConference for her son, who is in Kindergarten, and the teacher told my sis that her son needs after school tutoring to help him with his "understanding" the way to read!?!?!
Funny how he is only 5 and has been in school for 3 months and is expected to be able to read.
I was proud that my sister spoke up about it to the teacher. Told the teacher that in the future that she, the teacher, is not to wait until they have a "meeting" to inform my sister that her son needs help!!!
I never quite understood this way of thinking to hold a meeting at a set time to tell a parent that his/her child needs help in school. It should be addressed as soon as possible, meeting or no meeting!!!
Okay I'm off my soapbox now!!! LOL LOL
Thanks for the mini vent about the school system.....I feel better now!!!!LOL LOL LOL
Hugs

First off, I'd like to say whoever invented Polly Pocket ought to be set loose barefoot in a room of PP things buried in the carpet!
I've always wondered, is that a picture of you pouring coffee? I think I like reading your blog because that picture is so friendly. She gets a big tip!
Oh, I can't wait to see your cube! I have got to figure out how to do that, and then find something to stitch where I can! Those look like fun!
