Progress and Other Stuff
Here is my latest progress on Rose. I didn't meet my goal of getting to the halfway point of the chart but I did kinda on the left side. I am actually a few rows under the halfway mark on the left side of the design. I would have gotten there if I stitched on Friday and Saturday but we were too busy. Yesterday I actually stitched for a couple hours in the afternoon but it was interrupted by having to fold laundry and put it away and also to wrap a birthday gift for the party DD went to yesterday. Anyway, I am loving how this is turning out and hopefully by the weekend I will have the chart to the halfway mark completely filled in and who knows maybe I will have more than that done. :)
The weekend was fun and busy. Friday night we ran some errands which included buying the birthday gift for the party that DD attended. On Saturday I woke up with a sinus headache on my left side. With the way the weather has been, it was inevitable that I would get one. I felt it coming on for a few days. I medicated myself but it just wasn't moving along. Saturday night we got together with our neighborhood friends and I ended up leaving a little after 9. I just needed to lay my head down.
The good news is I woke up yesterday feeling great and so far today I see no notice of even having this sinus thing.
The birthday party DD went to last night was awesome but COLD!! We actually could have worn our winter coats. As it was, we just layered our clothing and had on our fall attire. I really wish I at least thought to bring gloves. We took a hayride to the friendly witch sisters' house and they told us a story and handed out these huge witch face cookies. The girls loved it. Then we went back to the picnic area to a huge bonfire where the girls and moms roasted marshmallows. I am surprised I wasn't ignited as the girls kept putting the marshmallows too close to the fire and we were constantly blowing them out. LOL But it was fun. I just wish I had time to stop in the market for fresh apple cider. It is really good and they make it right there at the farm. But we may get there by next weekend so I can pick some up then. Of course, DH and DS did not get our pumpkins. The place was mobbed at 5:30 when we arrived. There was no parking and DH decided to just go home. Hopefully one day this week, he will pick up our carving pumpkins.
Now it is Monday and of course I have my big plans for the week where my household stuff is concerned. Last night I was thinking that I usually fail by Monday evening but that is not going to happen this week. I figure I am usually slow to start on Mondays and that kind of sets me up to end up having household stuff over the weekend. So today I am just going with the flow and taking it slow. In fact, I decided I will do my grocery shopping today so that way I don't need to be running around all week for this or that. If my shopping goes good, I may straighten up the main portion of the house in case anyone comes over unexpected (which usually happens). Then starting tomorrow til Friday I will do my cleaning and straightening and laundry. We will see how that goes. I am trying to stick with a little bit of the Flylady stuff but it is so easy to go back to old habits. I was doing good there at the end of September but it has now fallen apart. It doesn't help that my kids are slobs. LOL I have threatened them with going into their rooms with trash bags. DS was mortified. He knows I am good on my word to just throw it all out. So he has mentioned that he will put away his stuff tonight. We shall see how that goes. I hate having to do household stuff on weekends when I rather just spend it with the family doing whatever we want to do whenever we want. I guess I still want Summer when that is what we did. LOL
I haven't picked up Star Light, Star Bright since Friday but that is coming along nicely too. I may just have a finish to post by the end of the week. I am well into stitching the house and that is pretty much the main portion of the design. I am also starting to think on how I want to finish it. I am really no good at finishing. I am always in a rush. So I figure I will take my time and think about it and when I decide how to finish it, I will take my time with it. I know I can do it if I put my mind to it. LOL
That is about it from here. Same old boring but okay by me. Have a great day everyone!

AS always Mia, your blog writing is just so wonderful!! Beautifully written and such great "flow".
The Rose is really coming along!! It will be stunning!!!
I'm trying the "Flylady" routine as well. I have the same problem as you , messy children, in my case 2 teenage DDs and not to mention a very "Pigpen" like DH. Seems wherever the "trail" leads it stops and starts with him!! LOL
Hugs
Wow, that party sounds like it was lots of fun! We finally got a blast of cool - high of 62 today here, and boy, we really needed it! I love it!
You are a fast stitcher. Good progress. Ann.
