Excuses, Excuses...

Sigh....I was doing so good yesterday with my biggie cleanup of the family room. I had two HUGE trashbags of stuff to throw out. Then my dear sweet favorite brother in law in all the land showed up and visited for a couple hours. Yes he knew I was in the process of turning my pig sty into something nice. But I never let on that I was anxious to get back. WHY? Because I will use any excuse not to open up the toy closet. Yes, folks, that was my next stop on the clean up list. This closet is a disgrace. When we moved, we just put the brown packing boxes of toys in there. Since June 2004, my kids drag out those boxes when they want certain toys. Then when they put them away, if they put them away, they are just more or less thrown back into THAT closet. Sigh...

This morning I had the best of intentions to open the closet of doom. It is 11:15 AM and I have yet to open that closet. I have to do it. No ifs, ands, or buts. But I just don't want to. So instead, I took my shower, made beds, did some laundry, talked to sis in law on the phone, talked to DH on the phone and then got on here. LOL Now that I am ready to tackle the closet, I have to leave in an hour to go to lunch mother. This is my final week. I know I said last week was my final week but I got the call on Monday to do it this last time. So I figure when I get home, I will do some more straightening of the actual room and then tomorrow bright and early, I will open up that door.

In other news, tonight we are going to Barnes and Noble for Principal Night. Our principal is going to read to the kids and a certain percentage of whatever is bought in the store between 7 and 9 PM will go directly to our school. This money almost always goes to our school's reading program and library. I don't mind going and I always find a book or two or three that I must have. DD is really looking forward to it. It will be crowded but worth it. The teachers always show up and it is a fun time for all involved.

I am so hoping to be home in time for Survivor and stitching time. I didn't stitch last night and really wanted to so I figure tonight is the night as I usually do good on Thursdays.

I received my goodie bag from Silkweavers and will post a picture of my pretty fabric soon. I checked my Order Status at Stitching Bits and Bobs and they are waiting on a leaflet that they had to order. I was so hoping to have my order in hand. It has been awhile since I got any new stash. So I am looking forward to receiving that soon.

Have a great day everyone!!

I hear you. Our play room looks like a bomb hit it, and it's my LEAST favorite place to clean. I know it's just going to be wreck again in a few days, anyhow!

My mom taught us how to clean stuff you don't want to by example: she always put on good music (like Springstein, Styx,or Queen) and turned it up really loud. It' gets you motivated to move.
