When the Going Gets Tough...
go shopping for stash!!! LOL
I have to admit that the going is not tough but the urge to buy stash is tough especially when you get drawn into all those beautiful sites. It started innocently enough. DH finished the bathroom last night except for a few things we still need to buy. But the toilet and sink are fully functioning. We started talking about walls and decorating and such. DH brought up that he KNEW I wanted to stitch something for the bathroom but by the time I do that, we would have empty walls. (he knows me too well). I told him I had a plan. For the moment, I will buy a few small pictures to put on the walls. As I stitch, I will remove said picture and replace with my masterpiece. He liked that idea and asked if I had any idea of what I wanted to put in there. Well as a matter of fact, I DID!!
I get a few UK magazines and there were some pretty flower pictures from Heritage Stitchcraft in there. Well I showed him and while he loved them, we figured the background for these flowers was too much like the same colors in the bathroom. We needed contrast but complimentary colors for these pictures. So I did what any other stitcher would do!! I went online to my usual haunts including my very favorite UK store Sew and So and there they were. I bought these pretty flower panels with one flower stem per picture in carnation, anemone, freesia and rose. The background is either a blue or bluish purple and the flowers are a creamy color. Very pretty. They stitch up to 4" X 10" so they are not huge. They are by Heritage Stitchcraft and I bought the kits with 28ct. evenweave in them. Besides coming with the evenweave, the DMC is already sorted and carded for me. How cool is that!!!! I have ordered from Sew and So before and I will probably have these in my mailbox by Saturday. They are very quick and considering we live across the Atlantic that is very quick.
The only problem I have now is when to stitch them!!! Maybe that is the tough part!!!! LOL
I am one happy stitcher this morning.
For the rest of the day, we are going to be lazy and get to the pool after DS is tutored this morning. We haven't been there in a week because of other things happening everyday last week and we are so ready to just be lazy. Of course I plan on taking my little fairy freebie with me. She has to be finished soon so I can start on stitching for my bathroom decor. LOL
Have a great day everyone!!!!
