This and That
Another week of summer is just rolling on by here!! Starting next week I will have to start the process of gathering school supplies, uniforms, shoes, etc. I will have to start saving dollar bills and quarters for their snacks and juice and other little things that crop up during the beginning of school. In some ways I am ready to get back into the routine but then again, I still want to enjoy the carefree days we have had pretty much all summer.
Yesterday I didn't get to pick up a needle because I had dinner here for a few friends for my friend K's birthday. It was a nice evening and all was wrapped up by around 10 PM. It was a nice evening and I am glad K enjoyed it.
The weather here today is going to be hot and humid (so what else is new?) and I figure it is a good time to have a low key type of day. The kids have been running around til late at night and I know they are tired. Somehow laundry has piled up and I have some serious straightening to do after last night. So that is what my plan is today. In between all that I will try to pick up my stitching.
I got off to a good start on "Rose" and am now working on the flower. It didn't plan it that way but it just seems that there are clumps of color here and there and I don't have to do a ton of jumping here and there. The flower is made up of 4 colors.
I am liking the lap frame. When I bought it I had great intentions for it but it got put away and was all but forgotten. I love my q-snaps. I have a couple sets of each size for my WIPS. Now that has changed. I am not going to forget the q-snaps but the lap frame is now a great addition and I am finding the tension is staying great and I like being able to not touch the fabric so much. So I guess it is a keeper and I am going to keep my eye out for the longer scroll rods next month at CATS.
I better get moving to start my day. I always have the best of intentions in the morning before the kiddos get up. Hopefully I will get everything finished today as tomorrow is a special day here with DD's official 8th birthday.
Have a great day everyone!

I love my scroll frame! I've had it for over a year now, and I almost never stitch using anything else. I just bought a hoop frame to take on the plane with me though, it's easier to handle. I can't believe how fast summer is flying by. It feels like you were just writing about looking forward to summer vacation!
I know, I'm dreading the back-to-school stuff, too...we just love our summer break too much here!
Hi Mia, tomorrow we'll have a familyday with my brothers and sister and their children and my mom. So I want to congratulate you with your daughter in advance. Have a great day!
