My Thoughts on Life and Family and Where Every Stitch is a hope, a dream, a smile, a prayer, a good thought.

Slow Going...

It is now 24 hours since I smashed my finger in the door. I didn't sleep well and around 2 AM I was in the kitchen getting ice and Motrin. I guess that did the trick because I didn't get up til my alarm went off around 7:30 this morning. As of right now, it is still a little swollen and there are lovely shades of blue and purple (nail and finger, front to back). It is no longer throbbing and I am able to type a bit better. As long as I don't use it or think about it, I am fine. Easier said than done. LOL It just sucks that this is my left hand. I have strengths in using both hands but this showed me that the left one is really the dominate one. So hopefully in the next few days the pain will go away. I sure hope DH was right.

He just called wondering how I was doing and why I didn't call earlier this morning like I normally do. My answer to him was is "I really didn't want to touch the numbers on the phone.". LOL I realized this morning when I did pick the phone up that I pick it up with the right and use the left to push buttons. It was not happening early this morning. LOL But as the morning is wearing on, I am okay. Like I said above, I can't look at it, touch it or use it. I should be fine. LOL

I have laundry to do and have sorted some to get in the washer and have one load running now. The rest of my chores will wait til maybe tomorrow or Friday. I just don't want to jar my hand in any way and knowing clumsy me, I will do just that.

DD has her well child visit later today and we will sclep back to our old neighborhood to do it. I should have changed doctors but I love our doctors and hate the thought of changing as my kids love them too. Hopefully we will be in and out of there and on our way home by dinner time.

Later on between loads, I am going to try to stitch. I will let you know how that goes. I figure where there is a will there is a way. I can't see me not stitching and last night proved it as I went to bed by 9:30 since I just can't sit in front of the t.v. doing nothing. If I can't stitch, I can take out my afghan squares as I crochet with the right and hold the square with the left. I will keep you all posted.

For now, I hope you are all having a great day.

ouch Mia!!! What a horrible thing to do for yourself. Make sure you get the family to help with your chores. You need to heal and get stitching again!

I hadn't thought about wearing my nametag on my bag. That's a great idea and I might copy you!

I just didn't look for one day and I miss a great deal of excitment. :; I'm very sorry about your finger, I'm not joking. It's horribel, but because I'm reading it after one day, I know you feel a little bit better. If you had wounded your foot, you would have been able to stitch, so this is much worse. I really hope the finger will hurt less every minute, so get well.
