Dark and Dreary Tuesday
We woke up this morning to the remnants of Jeanne. I am in no way complaining because I know Florida and the Caribbean have fared much worse and my prayers remain with those people. Surprisingly, my mood does not match the weather and that is a good thing.
I got the kids off to school and I stayed to help out in the Library. I will probably be going there every Tuesday to help get the books back on the shelves before the children come and get their weekly reading from school. It is a good feeling to get back into the volunteering. You see, I was very active in our old school but it took me three years to even get picked for something. In the new school, they welcome anyone who wants to volunteer and everyone gets a turn. That is a good feeling. I feel so welcomed at the new school and church and I happily helped out this morning even though it was not my first choice of jobs at the school.
I actually got home a little after nine between downpours. It is horrible here but like I said I am not complaining in my little corner of Pennsylvania. Our weather gets bad starting in December and I don't even want to talk about January and February though I will when it happens. I don't hate winter but I do hate ice and tons of snow.
I have already visited my usual BB haunts and figure I will write my blog entry and then get off this box and get some housework done. I am going to try to keep up with the housework so it doesn't overwhelm me. I want to get some time for me during the day without the guilt that I should be cleaning something or laundering something or whatever.
Last night, DD and I went out and got some Halloween decorations. This weekend, I will find the ones we took from our old house and we will decorate the outside. Of course, some Halloween pencils and candy made their way into our cart. But that is fine. I like indulging the kids once in awhile with all the stuff that isn't good for them. I figure as long as their main meals are healthy, then the little extras won't hurt.
In the stitching department, I managed to finish up organizing my floss and charts for my coffee design. It was so neat looking at the floss colors. I feel like between the dragon and the coffee design, I am using every color. The dragon is full of warm oranges, yellows and browns and the coffee design has lots of blues, purples, greens and browns. I love looking at the rainbow of colors. I think I managed about three stitches last night in the dragon. Since I am filling in prior grid blocks, it has been one stitch of this color and one stitch of that color and it is a little time consuming. I figure maybe later today, I will get to stitch some on that as it is so close to its finish for this rotation. I am anxious to start my new one. I haven't prepared my fabric yet for the coffee design because I know I will want to put in those first stitches and I feel that once I start, I won't stop. LOL So I am waiting. Since the weather is so icky out, I may just end up finishing up the dragon rotation today. That would be a good thing.
Hopefully later I will post a picture of my dragon and the chart cover of the new design.
Happy Tuesday everyone!!!
