740 More Stitches and...
...I will have a Page Happy Dance. Last night after stitching a ton of one stitch here and there, I looked at the highlighted page and counted what is left. There are 6-100 square blocks and 2-70 square blocks so that means, I have 740 stitches left on this page and I will have a mini happy dance for Coffee. That also means that the entire top or 1/3 of the design will be completely finished. (the chart is 9 pages) YES YES YES!!!!
I am really enjoying stitching on this even with all the color changes and the fact that this thing is solidly stitched (no fabric showing). This morning I looked over the chart to see where I will go next and I only see two areas in this 740 stitches that are going to be one stitch here and there. Maybe 150-200 stitches total. COOL in my book. It made me one happy stitcher this morning to see the light at the end of the page. :)
Thank you so much for your comments on my first finish of 2006. They really mean a lot to me as there is always a lot of time between my finishes. I also loved stitching it with all the pretty pastel colors. I am glad you liked the rose finish at the top but I have a confession to make. It wasn't supposed to be that way but in my rush to have it finished, I ruined two rolls of ribbon in trying to make a decent bow. I was sweating it out as it was all put together so perfectly and here I was struggling with the top bow. I did not have that trouble with Star Light, Star Bright. I did it in the first try. I had no more ribbon and had no time to purchase more so I fished around and found 3 silk roses. I plopped them on top to see how it would look. I liked the look and then pinned those babies down. I really like how it turned out. Kim thought they represented us. I didn't have the heart to tell her of my struggle and in looking at it again, I realized I only placed 2 of the 3 roses so they were meant to represent us.
There is not much happening here today other than the same old boring routine. For once, I am glad I had a stitching post for you all.
Have a great day everyone!
