One Week Away...
So the countdown begins. It is officially one week til Thanksgiving Day!! I am a little excited and a lot nervous as I have so much to do between now and then.
Yesterday I was a good girl and only got online once. After that I marched myself into the kitchen and tore it apart. By 7:30 last night it was sparkling clean. It is now ready to be messed up again with cooking for the holiday. LOL The kitchen is always clean in the way of the floor, stove, oven, sink and fridge but the cabinets really needed a good wipe down. I have white cabinets (not my choice, they were here when we moved in) and they show every little speck of dirt. I try to keep on top of them but it is humanly not possible. I will be glad when we redo the kitchen as I KNOW I will not be getting anything white. LOL And bless DH's heart, he helped me after dinner to finish up so that I could sit down. So now I can cross off Fall Clean Kitchen off my list. LOL
Today will be the dining room and living room. I have two wall units that need to be emptied, glass cleaned, etc. I think I am being overly ambitious today but those rooms stay relatively clean as we spend time in the family room instead of the living room. So I will see how that goes.
I would love to know who invented this fall cleaning/spring cleaning though. My mom always did it and I guess it is in me that I won't put up one Christmas decoration without all glass and surfaces sparkling. So that is where I stand.
If all goes well today, I will be officially finished with fall cleaning. The bedrooms and bathrooms just need to be cleaned and before Thursday, all that will need to be done is the vacuuming and normal straightening. DH will be helping with that as I will be dealing with cooking.
So that is what is going on here. I haven't stitched in a couple days other than Star Light in the car while I wait for the kids.
I figure tomorrow and the weekend will be the normal stuff with the food shopping thrown in. Then Monday to Wednesday I will be preparing stuff for Thanksgiving dinner.
In other news, both of my kids are going on field trips today. DD is going to the NJ State Aquarium and DS is going to the Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul and the Art Museum. I hope they both have a good time. I can't wait to hear what they did when they come home this afternoon. I am also happy that there will be no homework tonight. I need a break from that stuff. LOL
Sorry for the boring post, but the only thing exciting around here is the dust bunnies trying to escape the vacuum or mop. LOL
Have a great day everyone!

You and I seem to lead parallel lives sometimes. I tackled my kitchen, living room and dining room today. I even took the curtains down and washed them. I still have to do the floors (can't do that until the kids are down for a nap). It feels great to have so much accomplished!
I like to have my rooms sparkly clean before bringing out my holiday decorations too. Guess it just makes everything cheerier. Looks like you're off to a good start!
FALL CLEANING???? We're supposed to clean in the fall, TOO???? ACK!!!!
I finished the laundry room today!! The laundry room is used to store the coats and shoes and such so it is the first room my guest/family will see!! Tomorrow the kitchen and L.R. If you don't hear from me in 48 hours come looking for me.LOL LOL
Hugs
Wow, you guys are great! I guess I know what I'll be doing next week on my time off. I like the idea of decorating a shiny clean house.
Hope you are having a good weekend Mia :)
